dude chill i said i wished i'd took a picture trust me i know what i saw granted it was obviously a bad judgment on my part as i only saw 1 carp oh and a small perch as i said you all have faith in the pool so as i said i will go again if anybody can advise on some tactics as for the 2 week booking that is what i was told when i rang there mate i can only say what i was told on the phone that due to how busy the pools are 2 weeks notice required No need to chill just putting you in the clear mate, as for tips, like a few have already said dont be afraid to fish into the pads, there not that strong at all and if you look closely enough you`ll see plenty of fish about, especially in the pads

You dont need to book 2 weeks in advance before you go what so ever mate, it can be safe to if there are certain pegs you want but thats all. Whatever bait the owners told you to bring does`nt guarantee your going to catch what so ever either. Leightons a gorgeous pool and ive personally never seen a bad looking fish come out of there, every ones been a beaut, as for the fish with no lips, if youve taken a picture cant you post it on this thread, id like to see it, if it is true id say its got to be the only one in there like that.

Ive heard a few people say that before, that it will snap on you, ive got some, only used it once or twice and had two 17 pounders on it, the one of them scrapped like you wouldnt know what and i didnt snap though.

I use a size 9 ssbp fox arma point hook mate, works fine for me

Think your referring to the sergeant there mate, apparantly gets missed every time they net it

Do know moorland fisheries does a good food package, dont know if it`ll be fully booked that soon though, might be worth a try

Yep, i use ssc for bottom baits and sssp for zigs and surface fishing

Thats what i always use to use before i the arma points came out, other thing is every pack of fox ones ive bought i dont remember ever getting a blunt ishh one in the pack but with the korda it was every pack and at least 2 or 3 hooks per pack. I do like the wide gapes and do still use them every now and then for surface fishing etc but just accept that when i buy a pack i aint going to get 10 that are razor sharp

Never had a fox arma hook let me down, had plenty of korda ones do it though

You want to strip back the coating for the knot part of it anyway as you would for the hair and hook

Yeh like binfield said if your catching all the time theres obviously nothing needed to change. I use blowback rigs all the time, top hookholds always, in my case anyway

Merrington fishery is close, Telford i think, not sure what the prices are, might be worth having a look on their website
