  1. Might sound daft but dont you think it would be good if someone was to bring out a kind of rig board but for leaders etc? People who buy these safe zone leaders, helicopter set ups and so on, obviously people are going to have more than 3 especially if they buy every colour for each kind of lake bed like you get told to (cus it helps ). Not like you keep the packaging they come in is it, well i dont, dont you think?
  2. From what i know of the place your only hope is to get either the first two pegs roadside or the first 3 pegs canal side and fish to the dam wall, tiger nut boilies work well on there, have done for years. To be honest though mate if your looking for a bend in your rod i wouldnt go there, you dont bang loads out of that pool, maybe better off on the runs water if you have to go to pool hall, hope that helps
  3. I do that a lot when im fishing with fluro ( rub it on my trousers), does work
  4. Whatever you want on the clear patches, its in the weed peoples been on about for the solid pva bags
  5. Probably liners id have thought mate, if it was picking up your bait and blowing it out i doubt you`d get any indication because that wouldnt move the lead and to be honest i dont know if youve seen the underwater dvds but even when your lead moves your alarm doesnt always tell you. Running leads were the best bite indication just incase you dont use that. Plus fishing in and over weed its harder to keep your line pinned down if not impossible so liners are going to happen more. Thats just my thoughts anyway dont know if anyone else will post and either agree or not or might have another theory, hope it helps all the same
  6. If you used a 4 ounce lead maybe lol, if you can get away with it try and use one ounce leads or even half ounce if itl get you the distance you need. Even if your bait did bury in the weed an inch or two it wouldnt matter in my mind, carp love eating in weed
  7. Not necessarily, if you use the lightest leads you can get away with and depending on the depth of the weed a snow man wouldnt be far away. Always use foam too. As for pva bags and the like they actually dont make it sink deeper into weed etc, it descends slower through the water than it would a normal single hookbait. Hope that might help, if not, i personally would try a zig set at the depth to clear the weed
  8. Probably with long hooklinks is your best bet, like 18 inchs or something
  9. Just on their own mate on the maggot clip, might be worth trying just a couple straight on your hook, on top of a bed of them too.
  10. I havent fished it myself but know a couple who have, apparantly maggots do well on there, or done my mates well anyway, might be worth taking a gallon or something
  11. Im sorry stevew1805 but i cant agree with that, i havent read angels and demons but when i read the da vinchi code while on holiday abroad whilst on the beach every day i couldnt get my head out of it, every night when we was getting ready to go out and i was already done and just waiting for the missus all i wanted to do was read that book, to be honest when i finished reading it i was gutted it had ended and is definately by far the best book ive ever read
  12. Could try linear fisheries mate, oxlease, st johns and maor all hold plenty of fish over that size, not that its a bad one by any means, just thought id answer to your question beens as though the other replys have gone a bit off track, probably better off typing those pools in the search facility and looking them up, some people on here get a bit ratty with questions like that, have a good session wherever you go, tight lines
  13. bluebell lakes two 60s in there
  14. Just saying, he asked 4 a venue with huts and that place has got em. yeh they do though, id still have a bash
  15. baden hall fisherys, eccleshall just outside stoke, hut on every peg, some cracking fish in there too
  16. a few seemed to work to be honest mate, anything mainline weve caught on like fusion, cell, activ8. i think just good quality boilies really, they seem to take them more confidently than anything else iv tried. hope that sorts you, maybe see you down there one of the times
  17. Iv fished there a fair few times over the last couple of years. Its hard fishing without doubt but the fish in there are in mint condition and are well worth the effort i think. dont know if youve been on their website but theres plenty of twentys and apparantly a thirty. Boilies have done well 4 me and my mate most of the time and a bit of hemp. thats about all we use to be honest and weve had 4 20s between us and loads of mid to upper doubles to back them up. still lookin 4 that 30 though lol
