  1. I've just tried on my new wellies, they seem pretty good for the money and easy on/off so far, I daresay once they get sweaty and worn in, they wont be so easy to put on but I can slide my feet straight in with no hands, and they sit nicely below my calfs that'll do me for now, i might test them out today as I am going for a bait up
  2. Nice n short hinged stiff rig, I'm going to need to bulk buy krimps 😂
  3. I was just thinking don't tie the swivel onto the chod rig, leave a swivel on the leader, cut the old one off and crimp the new one in place 😂
  4. I got the wychwood crimp set today and made my first hinged stuff rig with it, looks so smart, I am sold on it already I think 👍 Going to be able to make my Chods nice and short now too, it's a bit of a game changer I think and it will make them quick change 👍
  5. I have due to something when I was snag fishing last year, and I was making sure my hooks were sharp, I just thought it was interesting that Danny was discussing what seemed a similar thing, and then he said he stopped using sharpened hooks when snag fishing, and he stopped getting so many hook pulls, he seemed to think the finer gauge under pressure may just cause little tears and come out, whereas an unsharpened hook would stay put
  6. Then at a guess at the highest part the top bunk kids face will be about 50cm from the highest point of the bivvy I would think and probably touching it in places,
  7. I'm can't find how tall they are tbh, But my thoughts are top bunk will be quite close to the roof of the bivvy
  8. I was listening to the korda podcast the other day and it took me back to last years hook pull situation, DF was saying how he doesn't use sharpened hooks when snag fishing as he suffered a few hook pulls using them, I was using sharpened hooks and put 2 and 2 together I was Convinced it was using a bait screw on the shank of the hook that I thought wasn't allowing enough movement, But I just wondered if anyone else had found this when using sharpened hooks ? I have been using J precision hooks lately and while they are sharp they don't seem to have the granny rubbed off them 🤔
  9. Shipping seems good from bulk feed supplies parcelforce24 should be arriving tomorrow and free 👍 A company that delivers bait promptly and free is a good company in my eyes 👍 Blakes, retro, and hopefully now these can be relied on for a good free service 👍 Monster particles let me down I don't forget 🙄
  10. They will slow them down a bit 😁, its more the rudd I have issues with tbh, last time I dropped a airbomb of bait in the margins of crushed bits and they mullered it in minutes, even picking up bits they couldn't get in there mouths they would just swim about with them, they won't move these so easily 😁
  11. I've just bought 25kg of bream resistant Aller aqua pellets, 17mm AP halibut 49% protien 22%oil they look pretty great to me It says they can stay whole for 48 hours, nuisance resistant size, I had a eureka moment and spent probably 20 quid more than I planned too on pellets 😁 but I thought the carp are more likely to get to eat them so it was worth it 🤔
  12. £440 is the buy it now price he hopes to achieve, that doesn't mean they will go for that, tbh if you have 3 I would probably sell them as a 3 rod set, that would attract more Interest as most people want a 3 rod set these days, it's a tough one as you need the right buyers to come along and buy them. auctioning could be risky as they may not go for what you hope they will but leaving them on a buy it now might mean you have to wait for a while, and don't forget ebay will take a big cut out of it 😭 If you can, Facebook may find you the right buyer but be prepared for a lot of people talking #*** at you
  13. Long sessions are the stuff of dreams now mate 😂 Tbh my brolly and my bunker both weigh about the same and are both fairly easy to put up, I took notice of the weight when I bought it, both around 5kg I think, all my tackle is going on a diet this week, since I had to barrow it last time I realised I take too much stuff that I don't need or use 😂
  14. So do I pretty much if It aint broke 😂
  15. Someone will know this correctly but I believe 3.5oz is about the correct size lead for a 3lb tc rod to help compress it fully, I read it somewhere I'm sure 📖😁
  16. I think that looks like an intervalometer port mate, 👍 have a look on amazon for the make and model intervalometer should find one fairly cheap
  17. Thank goodness for that mate, I have been concerned for a while now, it is good you have chosen the right path, I saw these deals a while ago not sure if they are any use to you, they do some pretty good other deals too though, 👍 https://parkfieldanglingcentre.com/collections/carp-boilies
  18. Change leads to 3.5oz that should be all you need, maybe change to a distance or dumpy distance lead as well
  19. I think you make a good point about session length tbh, a week in the bunker may be too much, I rarely do more than an overnighter so 1 man or brolly system is fine for me
  20. I think a 2 man is too big I have a cyprinus bunker and it is great for just me nice and small, light and fits almost anywhere, I would look at shelters these days like the Sonik axs, trakker tempest, something small light and quick to put up, I also have a brolly system I use when it's better weather, I think they probably use a trakker tempest but not sure 👍
  21. That being said I am also quite tempted by some aqua shoes, wellies to start with and then some aqua shoes Check out these bad boys for a tenner 😂
  22. Thanks for all the replies guys, I think I might get some wellies, for general purpose usage, I have massive calfs though, I have found some Dunlop ones for 13 quid that are lower for wide calfs has anyone tried these?
  23. Hi guys Just got back from a night on the bank, my shoe situation is shocking, and I caught a tench and possibly had a bream fall off 🎉 Due to the floods most swims are up and I sort of need to wade a bit,and it's generally muddy, but can't wear waders all day and night as they are annoying and horrible, I can't get them on quick enough if I get a run and I don't like wellies much either or own any lol, I ended up today mainly wearing my fake crocs but they can be a bit flighty and I nearly went over a couple of times Obviously with things like aqua shoes if you wear socks they will get wet are waterproof socks any good and can you wear them all day or do they make your feet sweaty and horrible ? You could go barefoot but then at night you may get cold feet, what's the solution for quick on footwear that you can get a bit wet and hopefully still have dry feet, I only have to go below knee level in an emergency usually below ankle level , 😂 I don't want to spend a fortune but need a solution please if anyone has one 👍
  24. That basically said you can't spy on the military as these are illegal, we can still spy on you 😁 Do you think area 51 has drone busters?
