  1. I use these for zigs. They drop the lead much better than your std lead clip. Wet the clip and just push the tail rubber on a tiny bit. Drops the lead every time and can withstand big casts.
  2. Just been sorting my gear out and a full set of top end rods, reels, and alarms are missing ... looked on ebay but none on there ... might have to buy a whole new range unless i can get them from somewhere else......
  3. The Nash is massive and very heavy, and that's without the 3rd skin (which IMO is a pretty pointless product). I'd avoid this unless you plan on doing long-stay static fishing (this is not the bivvy you want if you intend to stay on fish). Decent for long session holiday angling where you cannot move I guess. My mate had one and hated it, it's like building a house every time you put it up. The M3 is right up there with the Armo and the Titan as one of the best all-round bivvies going. A very, very good shelter.
  4. As a base to pump full of my own attractors I think the mainline wafters are as good as any you can get off the shelf. They're pretty thirsty i.e. they take on liquids very readily. Rarely use wafters but when I do I use mainline.
  5. I use cheap rubbish from B&M in my Delks, not changed them in 2 years. Still going strong. Shows how much I catch I guess......
  6. Doesn't that mean we're all average height and you're a short-git*?
  7. Mate showed me a pic of a common from here this weekend. A very nice fish indeed. Think in the last couple of years a lot of the fish have started reaching good sizes (30+). It was day ticket but has gone syndicate/members only. Loads of info online if you have a really good look.
  8. Don't know about our lad Greekskii but I'm 6 ft 3 and fit on the compact. It's the lightest on the market (or was, anyway) which is why I went for it. It's not the highest bed I've owned fella. Legs are adjustable so you can raise it but it'll still not go that high.
  9. Also use the Tactical Compact. Replaced a 250 quid bed with this (for about a hundred quid I think) and it's miles better. It's very stiff, which I find comfy - in the softer ones you just sink, they droop like a hammock which is no good for your back.
  10. You can have mine if you need one Vik - I've never used it.
  11. Was looking at that Nige but want one with sides. Considering the Trakker ones. Like the look of the Nash ones but very pricey and have found other Nash products to be poor quality.
  12. Ten years ago Carp Porter was the only way to go. That's no longer the case IMO. On mine the bracket that holds the front wheel assembly on bent, I had to fix it in place with a mod. So did I! Totally agree. I bought direct for 30 or 40 quid and it's utter pants (but still better than dragging a puncture barrow a mile...). The time is coming to replace mine, I'll not be getting another Carp Porter with so many viable alternatives on the market now.
  13. True dat. GCSE level technology in little plastic boxes. Some of which aint waterproof lol.... Rip off, but the best of a bad bunch on the market IMO.
  14. Got to be Fox. To this day I carry around a 20 yr old Fox Micron M. It's a spare for when my £500 quid set goes wrong, which they have done on several occasions. That mouldy old micron has never let me down. I think I've only changed the battaeries twice in those 20 years. It cost 20 quid and is the only alarm I've had that has never had even the slightest problem.
  15. I've not seen the Trakker waders bud. I can vouch for the VASS, they're very good indeed.
  16. The VASS come in quite big so you only need 1 size up fella.
  17. I got some of the Eagle Claws and did a pretty extensive review on here. You're right, they're very hard to sharpen. They're sharp out of the packet but when you look closely the quality is inconsistent. http://www.carp.com/topic/22462-eagle-claw-lazer-trokar-hooks/ I simply cannot look past Atomics. I've tried most and keep coming back to Atomic. Every time I stray I end up regretting it.
  18. I wouldn't go with any of the big brands, not for components that aint subject to loading anyway. You can pick up 50 cheapo rig rings for a couple of quid on ebay. Personally I like a bigger ring, I want plenty of movement. Normally use 3 or 4 mm depending on the application/rig.
  19. Not at all bud, I too would like to hear feedback - I've only tried the 18 lb, just bought another spool a few weeks back, and wondering if I should have tried the 15 lb myself.
