  1. Just looks too much of a pain to tie tbh jay , i'd be inclined to just make a hair from 2/3lb mono and tie it off the eye kd style . All that old bull about making the hook heavier Arent we supposed to be making everything lighter or "balanced" to fool these old riggy carp ?
  2. Havent i seen a similar rig somewhere where , the normal very long hair comes off the hook at the same point only instead of tying the hair directly to the hook , its knotless knotted and held in place by shrink tubing and/or a rig ring ? Does that make sense ?
  3. I'm sure they do the trick for ya mate , when i first saw 'em i thought it was something out of a terminator movie tbh Im a firm believer in keeping it as simple as possible even if it is mostly because i'm lazy lol . The most complicated rig you see me using is a bit of fluro tied to a piece of braid . Excluding the ready made choddies i buy of course
  4. Blimey that little lot puts the fear of christ into me , lord knows what the carp think
  5. I hear that they are aptly described . They are on my list to be tried this year ...
  6. Avid bait screws , marvellous little things. No water ingress , they are air tight . All varieties of pop up , corkball , cork dust , airball etc stayed popped up properly for over a week in tank test. Mind you they were made by cc moore & essential so i would expect them to ...
  7. Would expect nothing less mate
  8. Chance would be a fine thing phil Arthritis mate . Some rigs , i even get my mate to tie as a result . I would imagine that most people are as meticulous as they can be . A confidence thing probably .
  9. I DO do it that way stevey but instead of crumb i use cc moore weedbeater mix in xxx flavour in conjunction with my boilies . Same consistency as very fine breadcrumb and protects the hookpoints .
  10. Yeh i was out earlier today matey . I took my boy to nursery and then treated myself to a big fat fry up Then found an enormous tackle shop that i never knew existed
  11. Only 30,000kg ?
  12. I wouldnt restock it mate , i'd dig it up and move it into my new back garden . Then show you how to empty it
  13. Every dog gas its day matey . I'll have me wits about me for a while
  14. Im not surprised nobody else really fell into that one . It wasnt a very good attempt was it ? They obviously dont have april 1st on the other side of the pond so apologies to our american friend
  15. :) tut tut petey i'm surprised at you
  16. Obvious i know , but we all have to be aware of what happens when any sort of running lead set up is plugged in silt . I imagine more so with inlines . Then again it might be different with a longer hooklength in a solid pva bag .
  17. Morning fellas . Havent we all wondered what our baited rigs REALLY look like on the lakebed ? After watching the underwater carp fishing videos that uncle Danny has been flogging and we've seen the carp "getting away with it" , how many sessions on the bank have been spoilt by that nagging doubt at the back of your mind ? Are you fishing properly ? Is it tangled ? Has that pva melted properly ? Murder isnt it ? Well fellas im delighted to say that that probkem has been solved forever , and it can be for you all as well . All you need is some petrol in your car . As some of you know , i've moved house recently . There are a lot of mostly minuses about this but one good thing has come out of it ..... We just won £500k on the lotto .(and i cant even post a smilie lol). She wants a swimming pool believe it or not . At least now i'll have somewhere to test my rigs . And you are all welcome to come and use my new life sized rig tank , life is definitley looking up
  18. Yeah i think your probably right , you cant beat a true pendant running lead , large bore run ring , on naked mainline too . Always registers whatever direction the fish decides to go . Yet another example of what probably sacrifices 25-30% indication for the sake of convenience . Every option has its time and place though no doubt. Its just a case of knowing it
  19. Thats why i like the lead clips made by solar and fox . Semi fixed lead set up until you remove a tiny peg and it becomes a totally free running lead . And vice versa of course . Dont like lead clips , never have since i saw a video of a carp using the lead to throw the hook , and always always use a free running pendant lead set up . But , occaisonally i use one of the above mentioned clips ...just in case lol. Quite like the look of the running inline set up that joe morgan has on you tube . Bite indication appears to be great but im not so sure how it would act on the lakebed though which is why i am wary of using it. Blanks , always nice to come up with something like you have there but is milky right ?
  20. I've been known to use most of the above at some time or another ( apart from nige's idea, im not that innovative lol).
  21. Really ? I have difficulties understanding rig mechanics to be honest but i've never had problems with curve shanks ( except the blunt korda ones ) . Imo longshanks are iffyer . Also , find myself agreeing with nick re the run ring , and gardner do some shorter , more narrow anti tangle sleeves which would be a bit neater . In any case , theo's pva bag will sort out any tangling issues as will a good quality pva nugget on the hookshank
  22. Mmmmm....so, come on then theo , whats this wonderful tangle free wonder rig that you're prepared to give away ? After all , i'd hate to think that all that fretting and spending etc was for nothing ? I mean , youre obviously dying to divulge lol
  23. Why not ? Ive caught using a bottom bait on a choddy . Adam penning once wrote about it i believe .
  24. How long does Credence Corn take to biodegrade? This depends on conditions; Credence Corn is broken down to nothing by bacteria and light. Therefore it is dependent on the conditions and water temperature. In a glass of sterile water and kept in the dark it will take a long time to break down. In a silted pond it will take a much shorter time –usually less time than any pop up or shelf life boilie. Gives you a pretty good idea mate The kryston doppelganger looks like it leaks off food signals for considerably longer than the japanese stuff . Just depends on whether you can be bothered to shape it yourself . How longs it been on the market because its new to me ?
  25. Definately worth a look . Bet it aint cheap but would make me feel better in that it is biodegradable .
