Yeah it is stretchy and it's stood the test of time. I would personally trust it over most modern hook link materials.

Buy some new ones. They only cost about £5 for christ's sake.

My mum keeps birds. She's currently got a Goshawk, a Barn Owl, a Tawny Owl and a baby Eagle Owl. Sadly the old Eagle Owl we had died in the floods.

To get there you have to go to junction 10 of the A45, turn right at the roundabout, go over the bridge and go down the little track on your right as you cross over it. The track is long and you may, or may not, need a new suspension by the time you get to the end of it. The most annoying part of fishing there was the track. Not because of how rough it is, but because of the tedious pace you have to drive at, unless you have a 4x4. Which is excruciatingly frustrating when you're only about 500 yards from the lake. It used to take me almost as long to drive down the track as it did to drive the 20 miles from my house to the start of it.

I'd recommend not turning up fully kitted out in real tree, looking like a first class poacher. I'd go up under the disguise of a jogger, both for reconnaissance and getaway purposes.

Do a few trips during the spring. If you don't see any anglers, or any signs, just fish it. What's the worst that can happen? I suppose you could get shot but that's not very likely in this day and age.

I'd be inclined to agree with you Yonny, albeit in a slightly less scientific manner. Atomic hooks are the best hooks I've used in a long time.
