  1. Is there a knot that i can use that wont split the coating? With the Snakebites and mantis the coating wont/shouldnt split on them, I think Andy was refering to other hooklink materials (i find some of the suffix braid coatings split quite easily)
  2. Maybe i do
  3. Am i losing the plot here?? aint the suspender rig used for surface fishing??
  4. For saying you said im of to bodge one then 5 mins later there was a pic it was very impressive, and the England flag as a vein well what more could you want still reckon we should of took that football one with the winds we had
  5. You could even make some pike drifter floats whilst there too You know what im talking about
  6. Have a look on a well known auction site for polystyrene balls, plenty on there then just find some rig boom from somewhere again bet you could find some on the well known auction site if you cant and want some PM me
  7. If you do plan on useing a silcant sealant remember to use Aquarium sealant as normaly sealants has a fungerside (or something like that) in them that is poisonous to fish, i know on such a small scale it wont do any harm but for the sake of an extra £2 why risk it
  8. Some people use the rig with a sliding bottom bait, and drill the boilie first so it slide well on the hair But if you dont want it to slide as Jemsue said use a float stop
  9. Mainly used for running rigs to stop the lead hitting into the knot Or on helicopter rigs to hold the swivel in place.
  10. If that makes sence
  11. For close in work i prefer to float leger, basicaly put your float on held in place with your float stops, then a small leger weight 3/4 ounce sort of size, then a rubber buffer bead and then tie your hooklink on either hair rig or just standerd hook to nylon with swivel, set the depth and your away very resistant free with only having a float on the line, If you go with the normal float set up, as long as you dont put the weights/shots on to tight they will be fine, if you need to get weights and you want a soft shot get Anchor weights and Dinsmore are abit tougher again personaly i prefer the Dinsmore shot as the Anchor ones can be abit to soft, if you are fishing near a weedbed and the fish has a chance of getting in there then you could put a small peice of silicone tubing on the line then put your weights on this, this will also allow you to slide the weights up and down the line so you can ajust the depth etc without having to open the shot up every time
  12. The only knot i would use out of these for Leader knots would be the Back to Back Uni knot, apart from that Loop to loop and Needle knot (but only for leadcore) May i ask why braid to braid?
  13. I also use Putty all the time, as Tony has said with putty you can get it as critical as you like, plus with weights if the fish runs through weed or into a snag the shot can slice through the hooklink, this is what made me change to putty in the first place didnt quite happen but come very close to it.
  14. What size hooks where you useing and what sort of bites were they as normally the Bream and Tench will beat Carp to prawns and to miss 3 on the trot scream Tench or Bream running with just the bait in there mouths, as for rig use just 3/4 to half a prawn unless you leave a decent gap between the hair and bend of the hook, you could also try just nicking the prawn onto the hook
  15. This is true lads, dont want another thread going off topic again do we
  16. Is this chav language? Or cant you spell the queens English? Or is it really true. The UK society is actually dumbing down!!!!! IM going with the latter

  19. For real
  20. Apart from the 2 posts yesterday
  21. The joys of flurocarbon mate when tying your rigs you have to keep the whole thing tight as you are making it the first bit of slack and it will spring free, (practise, practise and more practise) as for the swivel not i use either a figure of 8 loop knot or in the lighter breaking strains the palomar knot
  22. Ok your tigh i hate tying them cus i tie them and then tie a new one up for the water/situation when i get there so just end up with loads of pre-tyed rigs
  23. Iv got an ESP rig wallet that holds about 50 rigs whcih if neally full but hardley ever use them as i end up making the rigs on the bank
  24. Well you dont look that hard, you can even get them in Yellow god mate dont start him off again!!!!! his set up will look like a radioactive mishap Lmao sorry
