  1. A few years ago half the fish in there could of been caught on free stretches of river and club lakes!
  2. You should put some pics up of the little carp you had from Mill cotton, proper gay hair Well in Joe, nice fish
  3. I use heavy bobbins and have a 2-3 inch drop on them in the day, you will see bites quicker this way than on a tight line in my opinion. At night I do the same, but usually at least 6 foot off the snag, the fish should gain confidence as darkness falls and come out of the snags. Always have your clutch tight and dont use your baitrunner at all! Also, when you hook one, get ready, it can be proper nerve wracking at times!
  4. Thanks Courtz I am not really the right person to right about this, seeing as the first 'proper' carp water I started fishing is still the same one that I am on now 3 years later! I will try and describe the way I started off on this lake. My first step was too talk to my Grandads friends who fished it regually for silver fish, tench and bream, so I could find out where they had caught/lost carp from. Also, another thing that I used alot is the Internet, this has been a great help, I was a member of a local forum which kept me up to date with the catch reports down the lake, where the fish were coming out from and what baits they were coming out on. The other program I use is Google Earth, this is an awesome tool to use, you can see any rasied area easily and it help for mapping the lake out, wrting down depths, ranges etc. I hope this year to really get among the fish, I have started stocking up on various boilies, all differnt flavours/sizes to keep them guessing, we will see how it goes!
  5. Sounds good mate, might have to go to a bigger tesco next time!
  6. I couldnt tell you! I have looked in all the supermarkets for hemp oil, but have found it no where! I found hempseed in ASDA but they have discontiued it!
  7. Hello again I am using the Branham and Murry hemp oil at the moment, is it pukka, no bits in it and its really thin and dispersies out really well!
  8. They all have fish in them, some more than others! There is at least a couple of 40s I know of in free to fish lakes within 5 miles of my house!
  9. Hopefully on 3 corner if I manage to get the ticket. Although, I'm considering a dabble on Delapre. Have ever walked them lakes mate? There is a proper gem hidden in the woods, no monsters in it, just stunners! Not yet mate, might have to go have a walk around this weekend. Is it all iced up? Seriously mate, you will be amazed when you see the main lake! Is a beaut, I would say only 10% of the water on there is ever fished in! Proper over grown paradise!

  11. I was gonna say mate, I was about to be cracking out the barbel rods and the worms!
  12. Blooming heck, 20lb tench Its annoying when yo are trying really hard to bag one, then someone comes along on their first session and nails one!
  13. Does your mate have red hair? Bit of a random one I know, there was a lad last year who had the first fish of the season and it was a long 30lb common, it was the first time the fish had broken the 30 barrier as well!
  14. I dont know the names of the swims so I cant agree with you! I might go down Elsons in a couple of weeks if I aint got my tickets sorted for this year.
  15. Changes for this year are going to be: 1. Have a few out of the pit near my house, wouldn't mind the big mirror or the big common, the common was last out at 38lb a few years ago, both of them must be over 40 by now 2. Not get caught fishing the pit near my house 3. Have a few more out of the club lake this year, going to try baiting heavily this year with boilies, went for more of a mobile approach last year and it didnt really pay off!
