  1. The dream alarms turned out to be a nightmare and it's not just mine, I've got mates who also regret buying them. Still got my Fox MXs from years back, like you say - never miss a beat in all conditions. On the RX+ now 👍
  2. I'd never have Delkim again - what a let down, unreliable rubbish - must be the only alarms that can't cope with rain and humidity, pathetic!
  3. They're everywhere, I think we're just done talking about it coz nothing will change. Numbers will just go up and up and lakes will continue to be fenced. My syndi isn't fenced and obviously we have otters to contend with, it's a constant threat. I've fished two fenced lakes and both still had otters getting in and out, once they smell the fish they come back every night looking for weaknesses in the fence, it never stops! My uncle has a lake, stocked it with carp in the 80s, nowhere near a water course and now he has just a handful of tiny baby carp and small roach left thanks to Mr Otter. I'm NOT a fan - it's disgusting how land owners are being treated!
  4. Solar do or did a cheap version of their SP Tech - I bought it cos it's lighter for my long barrow trips. Only paid £205 and I think that's a good price. Whilst I've had it less than a year I think it's no longer a thing unless you can find old stock - possibly 'Undercover Pro Sleep System' or similar - I put it on the New Purchases thread some time ago. https://www.c2kft.co.uk/product/solar-new-undercover-pro-sleep-system-ucp01/
  5. Yes they'll be OK, just check the ring every now and then.
  6. Your Fox ones will be fine to use and if it cuts you can file and eventually replace the run ring maybe, it's only a ring bit of braid and lead clip, hardly difficult to make that yourself I guess. Just worth knowing in case it happens to you 👍
  7. No but seen them, I prefer the way the Fox one sits during the cast, like the Nash one, the ring slides onto the float. Not an expert by any means but I'd look at the Nash or new Ridgemonkey one although it's so over priced it's crazy, not sure if there are any others worth a look at.
  8. If they are plastic still and not been made ceramic lined the line will cut in, sorry mate it just does. I was using the floats in 20 foot so lots of adjustment so mine wore down quick. I ended up getting a file on the cut/groove so they worked again.
  9. These don't last your line cuts into the run ring so the float wont come up, this will save you time wondering what's going on after a few sessions - it's this!
  10. Thanks mate and yes I'm well thanks- hope you are too 😊 I do like these drop shot and ned set ups, you can catch almost anything and such raw takes with the thin braid and light rod. Looking forward to spring 👍
  11. Perfect idea, we are obviously key members of the board. 2 strikes and you're out 🤣
  12. Exactly this, if it's going to be named choose something cool. Letting the anger choose there and then in a rush leads to the 'Kev's Mirrors' of the pond - not good 😂 Noone cares what the anglers wife is called, what's that got to do with anything - bore off!
  13. I'm not against naming fish, just allowing anglers to choose - which normally goes badly. I'll let you off with 'Sox' certainly better than 'Jeff' maybe 'The Stripper' would have been better lol 👍
  14. I've got the ND2 bait boat with Raymarine Sonar fitted, so a cheap boat with great sonar. Really depends on what your budget is and what brands you can get over the pond?
  15. Show off 🙃
  16. You've got me there, no idea but creative name, much more like it 👍
  17. You wouldn't tell anyone that part if you caught it hey - I've just had Nuggies, they'd think you just got over a condition lol
  18. Personal gripe of mine that seems to be getting popular is venues allowing the angler to name the fish. Absolutely would not happen if it were my water, they pick the worst names, zero imagination, 'Suzie' - my wifes name', 'Brian' - my favourite neighbour- it's a joke, what happened to the creative names from the past that reference something about the actual fish. I'd maybe let them suggest a name - then reject if it's poor, give them one more go and that's it - maybe ban the plonker 🤣 I was looking at a picture of a cracking mid 30 German fish that was obviously the son of a famous mirror in Bluebell (almost identical), and it was given a terrible name that meant nothing whatsoever 'Kev's Mirror' or something equally poor, done my head in. Rant over - do better lol
  19. I've used the Korda one mentioned and ESP zig and floater, both seem good to me 👍
  20. That's decent service, I got a new tip for my tacklebox rod - they're a great company too. 👍
  21. I can see me using one of these for boilies in the 3 forms: whole, chop and crumb. Maybe another for pellets in different sizes. Particle is usually mixed, yet I'll maybe keep the tigers separate. Hookbaits, I've got a 6 tub container in my rucksack for match the hatch and a ridgemonkey bucket for alternative hookbaits and liquids so that always comes along.
  22. Sometimes I literally have 4 - 6 buckets with me, some with barely anything in, these make sense
  23. Yes it does 👍
  24. depends could have a few of these lol One could be splitting 3 sizes of pellet and something else for catapulting baits out. Could have another splitting particles up in the same way. I could replace 4 buckets on the barrow with one of these and top it up as needed - will be buying 👍
  25. Powapacs Atom Pro, had one for a few years, 3 x USB - 2 of which fast charge, 1 x USBC and a 3 pin plug. Dropped it many times onto hard floor and thankfully still going strong. Price has gone up though
