  1. Last thread I remember about Belvide was this one, from the start of the year: http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=31596
  2. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=3068&highlight=kell+lake From the search facility
  3. I know where it went; It was removed as there are already a number of threads on UK Carping Holidays in existance! http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=36196&highlight=holiday http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=35779&highlight=holiday http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=35707&highlight=holiday (may be a familiar thread as well ) http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=30615&highlight=holiday http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=27575&highlight=holiday http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=25192&highlight=holiday Also it was posted in the wrong section of the forum
  4. I've not got much on Syndicate waters down in that area, maybe a couple of Club and Day Ticket waters I wonder if someone is including a Membership only water as a Syndicate? Don't know if these are any use:
  5. will be inserted somewhere nasty if you dont tell us! I doubt there's room for another Unlike you I only have my ear pierced
  6. Its a good point about D-rigs, although I prefer them for Snowman presentations. (I probably said the same on that other thread as well ). My thought came about because of the problems I've been having with hookpoints dropping with standard presentations, either the shank mounted hair or even the weight of the hook pulling the point down with a shank mounted rig ring sliding back towards the eye. Whether this is the same with all hooks being heavier towards the point I don't know and the pivot point
  7. I'll keep quiet on my cure for sucking fingers, but I think it involved a large pair of scissors and a pair of Nail Clippers Actually I've worked out the best position in my view for where the bait is mounted, but I would like to see few more thoughts on the subject
  8. Pulled up the first Pop-up thread rig I could find, with hopefully a new question for you. How does the hook sit with your standard pop-up presentation? I know we all think that the Hook is upright, sat on the "eye", but is it really? In many cases due to water pressure and other reasons like the bait mounting, the hook may actually be point down, even sat on its side on the bottom and the pop-up above the hook at an angle. Is the Bait buoyant enough to lift the hook in the lake (In your sink may be different to actual fishing)? For a pop-up where is the best place to have the bait mounted? How is the best bait mounting?
  9. Grrrr Thinking outside the box i have trouble with Anyway i'm sure you'll reveal all to your beloved forum members soon enough ADDED --- Now i'm thinking a bottom bait on hair the normal way and a popup tied to the curve of the hook towards the point to hold hook off bottom But hey i know nothing And the rig ring? To be honest I've pretty much used the same style rigs for over 15years. Basic Braided Knotless knotted or Line aligned. The most I have seemed to change is rig length or hair length, and some of mine probably aren't that tidy It's only down to the lakebed that I've had to work hard to think up a "different" presentation to keep the hook point clear of the bottom due to a couple of hookpulls. I wanted a presentation that would lift the hookpoint up, yet allow me to fish with a bottom bait. I had tried a "reverse" snowman, with the Pop-up nearest the hook, but they will not touch a (flavoured) pop-up. This way I have the 2bottom baits (I was using a 18 and 15mm bait on the hair) on the lakebed (obviously ), and also a (neutral) pop-up high up the bend lifting the hookpoint clear. It actually may give me another advantage, in that the Carp don't expect that whichever they take, the pop-up or bottom bait(s) may have a hook in it.
  10. Lets see, from your description, I don't think its the same. I know Brian has seen a pic (rig in my hand) and tried tying some up to play with. I do know that the first fish I hooked on the rig was landed, and hooked very squarely centre of the bottom lip. Shows that my thinking may well be right on what I'm trying to achieve. May only have been another 8lb Common, but its more than has been coming out of the lake recently. I'm thinking it could be a dumbell shaped bottom bait topped with a larger popup making it look like a mushroom Its caught one so far so it obviously works to an extent, i'm intrigued to actually know exactly what and how it may work Hope your not still holding out on us Nope, still not right. Think outside the box. It is nothing to do with the bait being tipped off with a whole or half a pop-up. I said it is a double bait system, that doesn't mean that 2 baits go on together. It is a different presentation so that I can use a bottom bait and keep the hookpoint away from the bottom debris Course I am holding out!

  12. Probably not Gave it its name on how it sits in practice, and what it looks like
  13. Hmm, its going to need the wonders of Dissolving foam!
  14. The theory works, but I'm not one for putting something up if it doesn't work in practice. Besides, you know why I'm calling it the Mushroom rig? Cos I'm keeping you in the dark and feeding you bovine excrement
  15. Been playing around while thinking about the problems I've been having. I may have come up with something original using a hair rig, rig ring, a double bait system, a bottom and a surface bait. I'm trying it tomorrrow night, so I will let you know the results of the All New, All singing and dancing "Mushroom rig"
  16. I've just walked around the local lake while I was having a bit of a pre-bait and fish spotting session. I'm glad that I had 3 carrier bags in my pocket as I ended up filling them with Litter. Soft drinks and Beer Cans and Bottles, Line, sweetcorn tins and bags, crisp packets, sweet and biscuit wrappers, 3 disgorgers, 2 floats and a plummet. What is even worse is that in many cases there were bins available. 5 metres from the bin and it still ends up on the ground I did draw the line at picking up the toilet paper and excrement that had been left right next to the main path that many children and dog walkers go along every day. Litter is an absolute disgrace, anyone who leaves it should be banned from fishing, or even Living! As for those who do need a "Pony", please BURY OR BAG IT AND BIN IT!
  17. Their information and secrecy being let out... You may be onto a loser there mate Hopefully the caravan will get you some brownie points back
  18. Thread moved into UK Where to Fish As for the syndicate members being quiet, it maybe a case of they want to know you and accept you before they give anything back. Which means you may have to so some work and offer them some information you have found out
  19. Royal Military Canal has a BIG chapter in Neil Waytes River Fishing. Some very big fish, but you may have to do a lot of homework/walking to find them
  20. Personal Choice? Neither! If I had the choice I would take Taverham Mills, Swangey or Waveney Valley/Yew Tree or Marsh. And I know that these have also been posted on in the past Just a post on one of them brings it back to the top for up to date info.
  21. Sapphire and Steel? From the UK WHERE TO FISH STICKY http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=27977: At least 9 other fisheries to contact or SEARCG(!) for. wonder if I spell it wrong whether anyone will actually take more notice
  22. Originally posted by Jim Shelley, but added to this thread
  23. Manchester, Lancashire being as my Geography isn't brilliant? From the UK Where to Fish by Counties Sticky: http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=27977 Then it may pay to see if any have been mentioned on the forum before using the wonderful Search facility
  24. Thanks for this Nick. It does not say what size the stock fish they introduced were, and i do wonder if they are simply guessing about the originals that escaped the netting, but as you said i would have thought they might be difficult to net anyway. Once we can get some idea of the size of the stock, it might be worth arranging a social down there. From memory if they are talking about Days Lake then there were only 7 Carp in the Lake anyway, until a couple of the 30's died. There is a massive Gravel Bar that goes across the Lake that probably didn't help with any nettingof the venue. I did just try to visit the website to see what has happened about the other Lakes on the complex, but at the moment either my PC is playing Silly or the Interweb is playing up, "Cannot Find Server" Did you pay your broadband bill? So i guess what they are saying is that all the originals escaped the netting process...all 7 of them (it does say up to 12 originals..something fishy perhaps!) I just managed to get the website up and venue, and your'e quite right it is days lake they have opened. Cheeky Git! Direct Debit, so I'd better not forget I thought it was only 7 fish in there when I lived in Norfolk, so it could be me who was wrong Looking at the map they've dug out and extended the other lakes as well. The bridge that is at the end of Days lake has been put into the little Lake which was separate from the others. The Car Path went between that and the (what was 2 lakes) lake on the opposite side. There used to be a small bridge separating them . You then had the 2 back lakes which are at the right of the Map. The Back lake was silting up at a rapid rate.
