Not a cloud in the sky yesterday so chucked one on the deck n the other on the surface.
Out of 18 fish on 3 came off the deck and the rest off the surface.
Only managed 2 mirrors 18lb & 16lb(missing a few lbs due to otter problem) amongst the F1's, 11.28 was the biggest F1 and TBF they put up a good scrap for a little fish.

Social trip to Norton Disney - which was a first.
I arrived first as always on these trips - experience tells me not to wait for him, and we've been enough over the years that I know I'm there to scout it out and do the decision making lol
Walked around Turners and Holdens as 2 other lakes were closed, only fish I saw was on Holdens and noone on the lake so I chose there for us.
Mate had 2 x 20's the first being a PB so the pressure was off on the first day whilst conditions were good, rain, cool temps, lower pressure.
2 following days were hot and no wind, the fish were cruising the far margin on the surface and despite being told to fish at a certain number of wraps I wasn't happy with the depth at that range so each day went further and further across. By the last evening I realise I'm either gonna hit 2-4feet depth or blank so proceed to chuck and chuck until I'm hitting the clip well.
Thankfully a take at 3am on the last night saved a blank.
New rods performed so well, beautiful bit of kit, reels not so good so just ordered another set.
Well done fella. That's 1 stunning fish.

It's a brilliant feeling. Didn't think if anything else whilst out on my bike.
Just me, my bike, n the open mountain

Very nice. As the saying goes "boys don't grow up, they're toys just get more expensive" 🤣.
You know it runs well when you can stand a coin on the engine at idle lol.
I've not ridden/ competed since COVID came along. Should really get it out n give it a service. Trouble is having the time to do both so it's fish n not ride

What is the best fishing session you've ever had?
Mine gotta be getting my first 30+ in February.
My lad wanted to go lure fishing for pike so I thought I'd throw a line out for carp. 30mins in my rod gave a beep, I just thought pesky bream but then screamed into action. After it dragged me around for about 20mins I seen it break the surface, that's when I started to wet my pants at its size. It then only went right into a snag/tree.
Jumped off the log I was standing on, off came my new boots n in the water I went up as far as my own tackle.
Once on the bank it weighed in @ 34.02lbs. Now the biggest known fish in the lake called SOX.
After I calmed down abit with a brew n a cigarette I grabbed the lure rod n first cast a PB pike of 10lbs. Not a monster but just starting out n still bigger than previous fish.
That's 2PBs beaten with 1hr out eachother. One of the few days I didn't mind packing away when the lad was ready

Thanks Mrmud
Triumph street triple. Been riding for over 5 years but the last couple I just seemed to be riding whatever free time I had. Did Isle of Man TT last year as well.
That's a nice bike. I'd love to have a bike on the road. One day, maybe when I stop buying fishing stuff lol

Looks like a f1 Carp their sterile but still go through the spawning process, could pass on the info to a bailiff or the owner
Don't think it was F1 as it had both sets of barbels.
I thought spawning just made them have nodules on they're head n pectoral fin but not all over 🤷🏽♂️.
I did pass the info onto the owner with pics but they don't know alot about fish

Welcome along @BackInTheGame. Out of curiosity what was the 2 wheels. I done abit on a trials bikes for a few years. Still got a trrs 250.

Finally got 2 nights in the new bivvy on a old estate lake. It's abit of a mystery what's in the lake. The current owners don't know what's in there.
It fished steadily whilst the weather was nice. Then early hours Monday morning the wind changed n that was it for the fish
Managed to get a few nice grass carp on the bank, biggest was 17.76lb. Plenty of tidy sized tench, biggest was at 8.66(new PB). 2 small commons at 10lbs and a horrible snotty eel.

The only reason I can think of to justify having a heater in a bivvy is if I was going to claim on mrs B B life insurance 🤔
Stop putting ideas in my head.
Sorry officer Mr B B told me to do it 😂

Most heat sources produce carbon monoxide.
really need to go safe
good bag is most important.
hot water bottle
or a thermal cover
or a 12v electric blanket
even putting the unhooking mat on top of the winter skin will help a tiny bit.
Think I'll go with what I got n see how she gets on. If she gets cold I'll just get her to push my monster barrow around for a while, that'll warm her up lol.
My bivvy got a overwrap aswell.

You don’t need a bivvy heater
decent bag and a water bottle and maybe a winter skin and that should be good enough
whatever you do
please don’t use gas heaters it’s just too risky..
40 minutes ago, salokcinnodrog said:Ooh no, you don't need a bivvy heater.
A decent sleeping bag for night, and good clothing for day.
Too many 'accidents' with bivvy heaters, burnt down bivvies, and deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Even using a stove in the bivvy is a risk.
I've got :
thermal base layer, 95% merino socks, prologic max 5 thermo suit, hat, gloves, neck scarf.
snugpak 4 season bag, snugpak jungle thermal blanket, ngt hot water bottle
Got a bio ethanol(ventilated but supposed to be odourless) to burn in trangia stove if it's to wet to use gas stove outside. Did look at the candle heater but candles still produce carbon monoxide

I bought one for my mrs as she always moans she’s cold saves me putting the heating on lol.
This is the main reason I was looking for some kind of heater as it can be the middle of the summer but the other half still wants the heating on.

Any recommendations for one that wont break the bank and will get a few charges on phone lights etc?
I purchased a fox camo bivvy bucket(not fox). I've not tested it yet...
Just finishing getting all the stuff I think I need for a comfortable weekend fishing. Just gotta decide on a bivvy heater now.
It's just a bait bucket that someones nicely boshed some wires ect in. I had it for £65

I got something like this cheapo one for day sessions if there's abit of rain forecast.
Getting the prologic avenger 1 man for session where it's hammering down

If you want to make them shorter have a look at the korda chod crimps.
Thanks. I have seen them, but.... apparently I'm paying the postman's wages with how much stuff he brings 🤣. So I've been told so they'll have to wait until a tackle shop is near by lol 🤫
May catch reports
