Well mines been a pain since day one or every time it rains seemingly ๐
My fishing reels, shimmy lc big pit baitrunners are faultless and will not miss a beat, only serviced twice in over 20 years.
They dont make them like that anymore.

... got a reaction from elmoputney in Can bait boat really up catch rate?
Yesterday thawed about about 3kg Particle for tomorrow, added the A Force Liquid to it for attraction.....question is to Spod or Boat out ๐ค๐ค๐ค
Gonna look at the Park Lake 1st, but only 6 fishable pegs on there, and with the weather tomorrow n weekend, I think will be full (this lake would be boat job), then 2nd is the club lake (more or less guaranteed bites, but small ens) Spodding place this.

They do do that, and I find quite often too, apparently you can remove the thing that makes it happen, but I haven't got round to it yet but I wouldn't buy another one when this one dies.ย

We are going for the fishing reels expecting better quality internal components but you lose a little bit of retrieve speed.ย Will let you know what I get.ย ย ๐

I was thinking changing Spod Reel too, looking at the Aerlex XTB but heard a few people say the Bailarm sometimes closes mid cast and causes crack offsย

You can definately get a rough picture of what's going on on the lake bed, even from the Deeper plus, this spot after a few casts I decided was a little silty but still quite firm, I haven't rechecked it recently but I've left a good bit of bait on it since and I suspect the top layer will now be a much brighter colour where its been cleaned off,ย

Think this weekend it's gonna be Park Lake, only because its closer, need be home Saturday tea time (ish), the Bait I've picked up this morning has been going in alot lately, and there switching onto it ๐.
Also not fished it for a while, my last fish out there was June last year ๐ฑ

I'm out Friday ๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ฃ, wait for lad finish school, then we're off....be doing until about Tea Time Saturday.ย
I'm going to leave the Amberswood Fishing until after the New Year, I'm gonna gather alot of info for the place 1st.
So this week its either the Club Lake I'm on or the Park Lake.....Club Lake more or less guaranteed bites but has had 2x 24hr Carp Matches in the last 2 weeks....Park Lake is abit harder but Fishbhave been coming out regular, Pristine they are, also Park Lake is literally 4 mins drive from house.ย

If you had a bait boat maybe you wouldn't be considering it?ย

My old 36" landing net got chewed by rats a good few years ago and I replaced the arms and net to a 42". Unfortunately I went cheap and got some plastic arms that sagged every time I went to lift a fish. Finally bit the bullet and bought a Trakker T3.
Although I have got a bivvy, I still prefer the speed and convenience of a brolly system. The ground sheet is a half size which is OK in the summer but with an overwrap being used in the colder and wetter months, the front area could be a bit of a quagmire. I've got the extra large which is 1300 x 650 mm which should be ample. I did try a couple of old rubber car mats out last time but they were heavy and dug into the ground and took a lot of washing off when I got home.
Well it is my birthday coming up soon and all the family don't know what to buy me so I've made it easy for them!

I'm sure we will go again @dayvid
That venue won't be doing lake exclusives until the spring, as he's doing a winter syndicate.ย
If we find a venue, set a date and off we go...
If only it's that easyย
