Think im gonna stick to Tubing n mainline straight through to a quick link in the Lead Clip..👍

Personally I try to avoid leaders altogether, going mainline straight through or tubing if I have to.

Nige Woodcock made a tip on a thread a while ago to stop the tubing climbing. Lighter blob the end that is held in the lead clip or buffer bead. The lighter blobbed end stops it pulling out and up.
The pic is my standard mainline with tubing on, and a running lead. I don't do quick links or lead clips

Whoohooo! The ABS Plan b worked again today. Horrible day, freezing cold and blowing a gale but landed a lovely conditioned Mirror, 24.5lbs.
My phone is playing up so didn't get any pics on mine, but Steve the Bailiff helped me land it and took some piccies on his phone.
As soon as he forwards them to me, I'll post a couple up.

JRC Contact rods are very good for the money i think they went down to around £20 each from fishing republic last year

Most of my sessions are either days, or 24 hours so I tend to use a brolly.
Off to France in July with my daughter, so was looking for something a little more "substantial" for a week under canvas so my wife bought me a Quest 2 man bivvy. It's my 1st "proper" bivvy, and only cost £149.00 brand new, (didn't think it was worth spending any more on something that was only going to get so little use). Gets very good reviews, and doesn't look too bad at all.
I could have got another make in a one man version, but fancied the idea of the two man as I don't like having everything cluttered up around me.  For £149.00 I think it offers terrific value.

What are you hitting them with?đŸ˜±

Mine are over 10 years old, get moved from bivvy to bivvy each time I buy a new one. I am very careful to not lose them, if one gets blown out, I go searching, but have spares, from each new bivvy I get.
I have never needed to hammer a bivvy peg in, even in the ground the brolly is on in the pic. By screwing the pegs in by hand they held, and I have fished that swim a few times.
It is in softer ground that I have problems, and wish for longer pegs. The wind loosens the pegs and pulls them free.

Oh yes, think I paid ÂŁ8 for 10 of these pegs, complete in a decent individualised carry pouch.

I've never bought new pegs........ I've lost the occasional peg on the bank and borrowed one from another bivvy set if I think it will be needed...... Damaged pegs are usually the result of a mallet being used, something I don't do... Besides, most of the time you only need 3 or 4 pegs.... I think there is an age group/mentality group that these sort of products are aimed at, and it's got nothing to do with fishing....
I've been trying to offload some used gear, free of charge to any youngsters that are without certain bits..... Bed chair, bags, Rod holdall...... First thing they ask is "what make is it".... There is a serious fashion thing going on with the youngsters today on the bank........ Designer fishing gear, pointless imo.

Well I had a 2 night session booked for my current target lake, would have been my longest session on there.... so typically it’s closed for otter fencing.
Theres a bit of a gem round the corner from there on a day ticket so I spent my 2 nights there, it became quickly apparent that bite time was from 4pm onwards with the day light hours being a waste of time. I fished 19 wraps to an island in 2.5tc Rods my arms were knackered by the end but it was well worth it. 6 fish including this 29lb below, considering it was freezeing at night, bright sky’s during the day, I was chuffed just to catch. A 29lb,15lb 2 about 8l  and 2 that probably didn’t go 10lb combined! Happy days

I soak it over night normally but I think even a couple of hours would be fine.

A couple of minutes before I put it on the reel.

Mono takes on a bit of water, so can expand if left to soak. If you put it on the reel after soaking as it dries it can tighten and  shrink away from the spool lip, leaving the spool underfilled.

Not heard of that one buddy.
You can add a little washing-up liquid if you choose, it lubricates the line making for better casting properties. I've not tried it myself (don't want my line smelling of soap lol).
P.s. fluoro doesn't require soaking, just mono.
