Got a Nash Titan Hide (not the xl) 2nd hand with zip in door, groundsheet and winterskin for £200... in nearly new condition... job done...

Looked at a Nash Titan Hide XL... they look okay

So..... after getting wet in the lashing rain at Ashmead under my Nash Scope brolly and Sabre Overwrap (only just enough room for my Nash Wideboy which had to be pulled forward to fit) the rain running off the front of the brolly and wrap was landing on the edge of my sleeping bag.... (also headroom under the brolly is dire for a lanky so and so like me) Well..... thing is.... I have a JRC STi (2man) but for only a day or two its a bit of a beast to lug about.... and you can't use it as a single skin, as the inner capsule is only a mesh/ solid panel construction. What I'm looking for is a 1 man bivvy, for short overnighters up to a couple of days.... quick to erect/pack down, with door and groundsheet, for less than 2 shillings and three farthings..... oh and compact and light too any suggestions...?

As soon as I can... its blinking expensive... and preferebly in spring or summer as it shuts for an autumn winter syndi... add in the fact its booked solid for 2 years

Well I blanked my bottom off friday and saturday and whilst it was sheeting it down this morning, I had a screaming run which took me straight through a weedbed.... one cut off hookink later and I was holding a straight rod after seeing a huge orange tail move a ton of water in a huge swirl.... gutted... my only chance and i miffed it up... ho hum... Couple of nice fish out though... a 28 to my buddy Neil which tied his B.James MkIV into knots and left it permanently bent, and and another chap had a 34 at midnight last night... couple more 20's out too.... sadly I blanked

Rods are out... blowing a hooley... been on the go since 6am... knackered now

Me too... this is my 2nd trip here... apparently its bone hard for the bigger fish so just any size carp will be an achievement for me... vintage gear will be used with the Sharpe's and my Merlin pins... lets hope I'm graced with a carp this time round

If you can find em a Nash BP4 looks quite nifty too, but they have no runner facility although they do have a quick drag

2500 size baitrunner... suits it lovely, you could push it to a 4000 size if you wanted too. But the 2500 is nice... my young apprentice has a set of the 6' xtricators and they work well with them

Pure, Sports DAB me and the mrs got one each for the cricket... think they are over 50 quid now though

Sadly we all have to put up with our share of idiots from time to time... whether on a forum or on the banks... we've had one or two on here lately... but its how you deal with them that will define you... I do me own thing keep me head down and crack on, as do all the other lads on here... if you wan't help with owt, there are any number of folks who are willing and more than able to help or point you in the right direction and if you are a confident type yourself,... then maybe passing on some knowledge to a newbie is a way of putting summat back into your sport The idiot on the other bank moaning about you fishing on his spots, or swim hoggers, stroke pullers, rule breakers, poachers... they are the sorts that our sport can well do without... Tight lines

A club water I fished years ago had its share of idiots... swim hogging was a common practice and groups of mates fishing a swim on an unauthorised rota to get round the long stay rules... they got really nasty if you quoted the rules.... it hacked me off to the point where I dobbed a load of em in to the committee.... if stopped for a while and some guys lost their tickets, but it left a sour taste and I left soon afterwards but it does pee you off that folks behave in this way... there's no need for it...

I was in my Nash scope brolly with an Abode overwrap, my bag is a Nash Frostbite sub zero fitted on a Wideboy... it wasn't cold, but there was a chill wind I was toasty... not the cheapest bag but the dual top layer is very versatile

And it should be easy to do so... however 2 points of attachment should the line break above the lead is not a good concept... I'm out as I'll not use that system... and as you've stated, you have no desire to either, so its a moot point but for different reasons

Therein lies the point Yonny... even when set up properly (which it was) the lead was still attached at 2 points after the fish was landed... if my mainline had snapped above the lead I wouldn't like to think of he consequences... its not a case of agreeing or disagreeing... the cog system is flawed... it could certainly be better executed

I meant so that the short swivel detached from the lead during fight which it did not , this meant that the lead was still attached to the end game at 2 points, making the whole system potentially dangerous... I've never been a fan of ditching the lead in any circumstance other than safety... I can understand the concept of the COG system, but its execution was flawed...

I went with the instrctions on the pack, had a fish on one and the swivel hadn't detached... so I set up the swivel so it pulled out easily on the bank, dropped it in the water and tried it and the swivel hung up under the water.... never used it again... never a fan of lead clips either, the hookbait can move a long way before it registers on the bobbin... probably the same for an inline and deffo true for an old school lead on the line... but I'm happier using them over a clip any day

I'll stick with what I know and have confidence in... I've not had any issues and I'm fairly certain that in the times where I have been broken (very few) The fish isn't towing a lead of mine round...👍

The end of the swivel didn't always detatch from the lead as its supposed to... and as for not being as safe as a lead clip... I don't use those either... inline or running only for me

I got rid of my COG leads.... they didn't do what they're supposed to, and they are not a safe rig, as the picture shows

Someone posted a few pics of the Anchor rig a while ago, dunno if it was on here or another site, but basically it had a stiff mono through the shrink tube kicker so the rig looked like a mini anchor

this is my point... I 'm wondering if the mix of metals in rig components is causing a low level (either) magnetic or electrical field that the fish can detect, we all know that some fish can detect electrical muscle impulses of fish hiding in sand in the sea... who's to say freshwater fish cannot detect the same fields from metal mixes in rig components... as you said yourself, "they know something is different" you said that yourself, but do you know what they are spooking at... really...??? this is the point I'm trying to get across
