  1. Why.....????? there's always the option of watching your bobbins.... which, I might add.... is how it was done before alarms were invented....😛 hub-cap underneath the reel with a penny on the spool...? See... old school still works...🤣
  2. and add £147 for the receiver....!!!! That's a mighty large markup for a couple of pence worth of circuitry and solder... but then whenever has a high end tackle firm not taken the chance to make a buck....?? and as you say... it is a business.... Edited just now by bluelabel Oh dear , as with all things the final retail price is far from the cost of parts , good luck to any one with the balls to start a business ! Hey if I was in their shoes I'd be doing the same thing....🤑 difference is, I'm on the other end of the line (literally) we all moan about the cost aspect at some point or another, whether its yer ticket, rods, bait, alarms, or whatever... it doesn't stop us wanting things a bit cheaper does it...?🤣👍

  4. except ATTs... you have to have a receiver as there's no speaker in the head... that said, they do other alarms with the speakers so bit of a moot point
  5. Some folks who only do day sessions, or sit on top of their rods but want the Delkim alarms I'd suppose would look at them,
  6. I was looking at dipping a toe into the world of Delkim at some point in the future, should my current alarms go pear shaped (although my ATT's are still going strong after nearly 7 years) and I thought that the EV-D would be a way forward, as I have an ATTX receiver, I figured a pair of dongles wouldn't bee too hard on the pocket
  7. I thought the 2.5mm socket was for the Delkim illuminated bobbins and you need a 3 or 3.5mm jack for the dongles
  8. Just seen the ads for the new Delkim EV-D looks good... does anyone know if they can be fitted with the Gardner Dongles to work with the recievers...?
  9. Good god man... tell the lass your going fishing and go.... I tell her indoors when I'm going and I go end of.... just as soon as the swelling goes down....🤣😜
  10. I have an old drennan one and an Angling Intelligence weigh / recovery sling in the brolly bag
  11. Brilliant bit of kit...had one for a season.... folds nice and flat and nice high sides
  12. Blimey... I used to use Trent's "Red October" years ago... back in the early 90's good winter bait... hardly smelled of antyhing but the fish hoovered it up... gutted when they stopped making it
  13. clockwise from bottom mid left Korda tackle bank and bits bag 2 rig wallet/boxes Nash alarm/bankstick case first aid kits for me and the carp spare spools blue bag is leads pouch couple of pots of plastic toppers scales and weigh sling main bag is a Korum compact ruck bag the Korum mat is attached to the back of it all fits in nice and snug... you gotta be ruthless though
  14. the only change to that lot is if I do a night I'll take my bedchair, the back's not up to much these days... then it's a barrow job, but that lot above is a normal day session... my young apprentice is loading up a barrow while I'm at me peg and setting up...🤣🤣
  15. This is all of it... my day/overnighter kit left to right, ruckie mat and chair, bait and food bag, and right is my pair of Dwarf's with net and spod rod with Scope ops brolly...

  18. I keep my kit as small as poss... I have a small bait bag... rod bag, ruckbag with chair and mat attached to it... all up 3 items to carry...
  19. Sorry but I'd never lock a lead onto a clip recipe for disaster that...
  20. They are still roller wheels though (aren't they???) and still prone to roller wheel issues ie freezing and line slip... (half the jargon on the link meant nowt to an old gimmer like me)
  21. BOT.... I saw thos alarms at the brentwood show and they looked like a way of getting round the vibration system that Delkim use.... not sure on their efficacy but it would be interesting to try a set out.... not sure on the open section on the front though.... a nice water inlet to be honest
  22. dunno who he is (was) he was a gobby sort.... no manners whatsoever,
