    dont bother

well, heres a novel thought!! why dont you get yourself a fly rod and use them as they were intended? dont mean to sound condescending C9 but just saying, when the carp are on top i have some of the best action ever on the fly rod (and it dont take long to learn) you only need to flick the fly out 30ft or so for some of the most exciting fishing you will ever do.

    Angel's Catch

Just beat my PB last Saturday whilst fishing the pellet waggler. 4 carp and 2 grasscarp in total, one of the carp was 11.50kg, so around 25+lb. Turned out to be a great sesh with some beautiful fish!

  4. Have you tried putting a foam nugget inside a small mesh pva bag along with your mix of choice? As Nick suggests, don't compress the bag too much as you want the air in the bag, but for extra buoyancy and a secure hook hold, try putting a pva nugget inside the bag to one side, then push the hook point through that.

  5. Well i use the heli setup with pop ups so on the hook is no good for me i normally tie my stick to the lead loop and put 2/3 foam nuggets in the bottom of the stick to keep it suspended as it sinks take that with a pinch of salt yet to land anything so far this season .

  8. Personally would much rather have all my rods together .... only one area you need to stear them round then & not multiple. Good advice to give people starting out is try not to set your rods up slap bang in the middle of your peg , especially if you are unable to leave the peg to land the fish ( bankside vegetation etc ) set them up to one side & leave your self as much room to land them in the peg as possible.

  9. Absolutely. Not my "ideal" type of pod, I prefer the ones with a "goalpost" type leg set up, but it will be fine. I never used to get tangled on one of these.....

  10. Just to report, caught my first two carp on the multi rig this evening, a 13lb Mirror and a 15lb Mirror, along with a couple of silver fish too. All were nailed perfectly in the bottom lip and fell to a Nash Citruz popup. This has given me great confidence!!!

  11. This is a great little rig useful in a variety of angling situations but is especially good for PVA bag and method work. It utilises a soft and supple braid with a shrink tube line aligner for maximum hooking potential. Choose your preferred braid, here I am using Merlin from Kryston. Tie a simple overhand loop in the end of the braid. This will form the hair loop to keep the bait on. To tie the knotless knot, first pass the end of the hooklink through the hook eye by going from the back towards the point as shown. Lay the hooklink along the shank of the hook to form the hair. Start whipping around the hook shank, trapping the hair against the back of the hook. I like to go around 7 times but you should continue whipping until the hair exits the hook shank opposite the point. Finish the knot by keeping the whippings tight and passing the tag end back through the hook eye from the same direction as before, i.e. from the back towards the point and pull tight. The finished knot. Select your chosen shrink tube. Cut a small section of shrink tube. Thread the tube onto the link. Push the tube over the knot as shown. Select the method of attaching you rig, i.e. swivel, rig ring, etc. Here I am using an oval rig ring. Tie on with your preferred knot (I use a Grinner). The tied rig. The last stage is to steam the shrink tube in the steam of a kettle. Note how I introduce a curve / bend into the tube. CAUTION: TAKE GREAT CARE WHEN USING STEAM AS SERIOUS BURNS CAN OCCUR. Here is the finished rig. Ideal for using in solid PVA bags or the method feeder.
