it's taken me a long time to get this rig the way I want it, I've now got it as good as I can IMO materials, length etc for me it just works and I don't feel the need to change it. If I want it lower I cut the ring off and use a wide gape, if not I use a J precision long gape this hook pattern is brilliant, even confident now using it in barbless if required. Everytime I mess with another rig it just isn't as good, multi rigs whilst ive used them a lot ,they can sit there all night having been sprung without a bleep, you can't attach a mesh bag and cast it, they arent as versatile probably better if using a boat /pole/or close range,but i know that will be sitting pretty with a half decent drop.

Well if we do meet and you seen me catch, it was a Tench that got weeded up for 10 mins, so exciting looked 10lb but went 9.14lb - buzzing mate, get on the multi, spinner, up and down rigs 👍🤣

Whilst I cant deny it's a great rig, all that extra metalwork and sleeve put me right off, My multi uses none of it, just a hook screw and putty and stripped braid turns as good as any swivel for the joint part IMO. I've taken to using 25lb stiff material for the hook loop keeps the hook in place and as doubled over acts like a hook extension. You've also got to consider the ptfe coated swivels coz normal ones rust and dont turn great after a while. The mechanics and shape of the rig are exactly the same, but if anything you can get a multi even lower.

I actually did quote well on it to be fair when I tried it, fished a lake close to me that I've never caught from, fished a Pink Cream Seed pop up over crushed boilie, had my 1st ever fish out the lake. (Butnto be honest, never fished it since 🤣🤣)

I agree with @kevtaylor, it's advantages are in it can be used for bottom baits, pop-ups and snowman as well as critically balanced. If you use it for bottom baits, just tie the hair slightly longer with a bit of a gap between bait and hook.

I ended up with gremlins. Last night of that session I had a decent run on a pop-up, struck into it and reeled in a bit then had weed clog up the tip ring, so I had to clear it by hand. Started reeling in again and whatever was there had gone, along with the rig and lead. I think that playing a fish I then pulled the line in front of a pike which bit through the line above the lead. Or maybe even a pike took the lead as it 'flashed' past disturbing the bottom and bit me off. And don't talk to me about bivvies and wind, having to turn it round in the dark in a hurry while being battered by 70mph winds. Poor Sky was hiding under the bedchair outside while I was having to use Solar banksticks pushed all the way in to hold it down.

I was fishing a big double swim with a mate and we both had 2 low 20’s when we saw two anglers heading our way with buckets quick as a lightning he picked up the still wet unhooking mat and threw it into my bivvy then grabbed the net and dropped it in the water. When the guys asked us had we had any luck he answered 1st and said not a thing it’s been dead. …So off they went on their way and I asked what was all that about he answered there’s empty swims either side of us and they would have jumped in if we told them about the fish and with the extra lines it was a no no.

Got a cracking 30 common first morning then the crowds arrived and pressured the area and they did the off. Kept it secret squirrel so no pics till I report it to the syndi, sorry 🐳😎👍 Get in 🙂
