  1. Well it looks like I may not get any time to fish for the next couple of weeks so i suggested I might do a quick sunday overnighter, this was met with a pretty good response so I'm going tomorrow 😁 I'm going to keep my options open this week and try and fish anywhere but the usual, i haven't got any plans, a couple of swims I wouldn't mind trying, but I may just do something new, and see if I can't learn something else about the place

    Back to pastures old

I've gone fully backwards this week ha ha, geez I've had a few small incidents already, forgot my pult, forgot my throwing stick had to use the airbomb, I can see why people use bait boats lol 3 ahoy shipmates and you are fishing, it took me ages to into dark to distribute that bait and it wasn't dead accurate, I'll be amazed if I catch one but I'm in a new swim I've found some spots and I am having a go, I am also in the muddiest swim on the lake (I could've picked plenty of others that weren't muddy) and have already been on my ass whilst baiting up 😁 I am having a go and a beer now so chilling, it's all good

    Pike at night

A mate of mine caught a big pike on the steps of a large concrete domed reservoir a couple of foot out in about a foot of water. He had a theory that the pike patrolled the margins after dark looking for easy pickings as some anglers discarded any unused deadbaits in the margins. We did a whole night session on a Somerset Drain once and got smashed to pieces by eels, I think we had at least 15 runs each but did catch a pike just after midnight. We would regularly fish a couple of hours into darkness in the winter but it wasn't all that productive but did throw up the better specimens.

Run out of time on the end, had to settle for a Consolation breakfast from mcdonalds I think I am done in that swim for now its been nice while it lasted but I feel like I know it too well lol, I thought that this morning when grabbing my rod and lead in the standard way to avoid the over hanging tree after wrapping up the rod, I've become too comfortable and have stopped looking elsewhere, it's good to know but I need to delve deeper to find the bigguns, I can always revisit at times but I don't want to end up just going through the motions, I've had a nice run and had 11 carp to 28lb 4oz from it so in hindsight not a bad bit of graft 😁 but time for a fresh view πŸ‘
