Corus bait still trading??

Not the best start to 2026. The filter house is protected by a massive wooden lid that keeps the rain out. It's been so cold and wet recently that this wood is now completely saturated and weighs an absolute ton. It opens by means of a pully system that's attached to the house. On Sunday I was opening the lid to clean the filters and the fixings pulled out of the wall. I popped to B&Q to get some bits to repair it and thought I'd done a good job, until it pulled out again, hitting me in the face, cutting my nose, and giving me a lovely black eye. Monday morning at work everyone was asking if I've been in a fight 😂. Water temps are rock bottom, with 3 degrees C the lowest recorded. All the carp are sitting on the deck doing nothing, which is probs a good thing since we've spotted a heron stalking the pond on several occasions now. I have a couple of months to figure out how I'll address that. All that said, the carp are looking healthy and the water quality is good so I can't complain too much. I have to say it's tricky getting the motivation to get on the bank knowing how these temps are effecting the fish. I'd probably blank fishing the pond, let alone my syndi water!

Used to have these on VHS. In his prime was a bit of a lad, but lot's of great info from his first 3 books. Remember meeting him at a Carp Society slide show and talk many years ago, then went outside for a demo of his air powered boilie cannon thing 😀 Part one: Part two: No copyright infringement intended but think some of a certain age might like this ?

No worries just thought it would be a useful addition as I am sure more people don't put them up because they don't know how or it seems like a faff.

Thanks for doing that mate 👍. Unfortunatly I make a complete 'dogs dinner' about my links recently, should improve in the future now. Not sure if any mods can do this, but maybe remove my post in the YouTube section and I can replace it with a topic with a proper heading and hopefully a proper link this time! 😃

Hi guys I thought I would make a quick how to guide for uploading videos from youtube. First find the video you want to share. Then click on the arrow. Then this appears Click copy link and you get a short code come up. All you need to do is click paste and bingo You want your link to be embedded like above. I think it's best if you try and include the title of the video in the title of the post as it will make them easier to look through. Hope this helps @salokcinnodrog might be useful as a sticky?

Yeah just get chucking them in mate. room for everything in there

Thankfully 😂 The only people that will do something about it will probably never get the chance.

Ignore that, it doesn't work on here...... Not a fan of AI, but google search for COG link displayed this; The Korda COG (Center of Gravity) lead system is a carp fishing setup designed for superior hooking by aligning the hook link with the lead's center of gravity, improving weight transfer for instant bite indication, and offering lead ejection like a standard lead clip. Setup involves using a specific COG lead with a matching Korda Boom and Lead Clip, attaching your hook link to the boom's swivel, and securing it with a pin for a fixed, highly effective bolt rig, or removing the pin for a running setup, using silicone tubing to cover and control retention.

She's a long time gone mate, but that was the start of it. This kind of thing just shows how fragile our infrastructure is and who's going to do anything about it??
-
Sorry can't do a proper link without a big URL on here

Once again no criticism, but yes been around for years, good luck to the young lad for making it work for him tho. https://www.google.com/search?q=cog+lead+system+setup&oq=cog+lead&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgDEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyCQgBEEUYORiABDIHCAIQABiABDIHCAMQABiABDIHCAQQABiABDIICAUQABgWGB4yCAgGEAAYFhgeMggIBxAAGBYYHjIICAgQABgWGB4yCAgJEAAYFhge0gEJODQ1MmowajE1qAIIsAIB8QXqvXa12FGS1A&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:eabc2f0f,vid:jnDDa9fka6w,st:0

A great idea, maybe a place to post links that are not 'so well known' on there? Think we all know about the usual tackle sponsored ones by now 😃 I did start another post on here about the Rod race YouTube channel, hopefully people will post links to more stuff on the new topic 👍

Old thread i know, but the only one I could find How much longer are we going to put up with the complete ack of reinvestment in our infrastructures. My town (estimated 16,500 homes) is without water, due to a burst mains. This has caused utter chaos all day. These private firms pay out to the shareholders and hope everything else sorts it's self out. Then they have the cheek to say we got to pay more. Oil prices are another, perfect example of us being bent over Reform is needed, just not the party.
