Completely water dependant imo. I had a great session spodding floaters over zigs after dark one hot summer night over on Swan @ Bluebell. God know how I got away with it as they're tricky kippers over there.

I think it's ok on bigger more heavily stocked pits, less so on smaller or lightly stocked waters. It'd be the kiss of death on my current syndi - small and shallow - even getting the hookbaits out without spooking them is tricky.

Wouldn't consider it for March if that's what you're getting at - I think keeping everything quiet will be critical for us.

I'm more thinking of using it as a cloud maker with a little pre baiting for a spring campaign, little bit of cloud and little spot prep at the same time 😳

What's people's thoughts on it?

Carp catcher or carp scarer?

I saw Dave Lane doing it years ago on Suffolk Water Park in peg 1. He was casting the bait along the margin to the left, and spodding floaters and milky liquid in front of him. The cloudy mix was colouring the water and he was picking up big fish on the Zig.

Simple answer is both to your question mate.. Are you saying you’re hoping to spod to get them used to the cloud mix ? and pre bait at the same time 🤔

No more just start with a cloudy mix but add more stuff as the session goes on so you also leave  some crumb and chops etc on the deck when you leave.
