I'll kick it off then. After a tough couple of nights on horseshoe in the week, I decided for some more punishment and did a night on the syndicate last night. I got there about 9pm and had these two at 2.30am. As soon as the sun got up this morning, I headed home with the fish in the upper layers. We have banned zigs for a few weeks to encourage members to put a bit of bait in to help them after spawning! Otherwise I would have stopped till tea time!!!!

well a year has past more or less since i started this thread and ive just got back from this years trip to bluewater lake. i managed 6 fish in total. the biggest 48lb on the button. 

good question mr newmarket. what i do is set a target for myself and once its achieved i set another. in my fishing in england im on a few syndicates that hold some big fish. so when i hopefully bank one im straight onto the next biggun in that lake. ive been on one of my syndicates on and off for 10yrs now and there are 2 main targets left me but they are not the be all and aend all. its all about enjoying myself at the end of the day. as for fishing in france its the same. ive caught that 56lb mirror and next id like a 60lb carp. obviously you need that size of fish in the lake to achieve that target. bluewater lakes holds around 8x60's, 20 or more 50's and as for 40's and 30's even the owner dont know as there are that many so my targets are achievable in time but most importantly i dont put pressure on myself to achieve them, if they are achieved then all is good but if not i wont have sleepless nights. up until the last 4 or 5 yrs fishing was the most important thing in the world to me, but in the last 4 or 5 yrs i feel ive relaxed more and now mix fishing with a weekend out with mates or family etc and ive got  a good blend which i feel makes me angle better.

also had this 43lb mirror. they were part of a 9 fish catch.

went to Bluewater Lakes last week and caught a new pb for myself in the shape of this 56lb mirror. the kronenbourg flowed afterwards

Got out for a day session today myself .... after a head banger of a four day blank at the start of the month with a few of the guys off here , was toying with heading somewhere to get a bend in the rod . But stuck to my guns and headed up to my low stock lake for another go . Did manage to get up there yesterday and left some fast  breakdown  pellets on a couple of spots in the hope that they might be in the vicinity by the time I got up there the next day .
well lady luck was shining on me and managed to bag a couple .

Really chuffed with these fish after two blank sessions! Giving the Heron lake a go tomorrow with bigger fish!

I think I'm going to rice Premier Baits Randoms a go. It's my first year fishing and budget is an issue. The Randoms are cheap, and as you say if people are chucking a lot of different bait in it may not make a big difference!

Exactly right! I enjoyed the day none the less and learnt a lot from a couple of guys I met down there.
