  2. I've got 2 9ft 2.75 t/c Nash hgun rods and I really like them mate, they cast well and seem quite firm. Ive got the 2 skin rod bag for it too, fits everything in except bait for a short session. Ifnyou do get them mate just make sure you wipe the telescopic section down before retracting it because the dirt will scratch it.
  3. I don't really know mate, looks smart but what if you fished with a pod? Would you have to buy their pod as well? Also can you choose which colour lights it has?
  4. How you getting on with it now mate? Its time for me to spool my big pits and I'm not sure what to use, might give the line you're using a go or go with daiwa sensor lol
  5. Will do thanks mate
  6. Could I use an old book or something, like put the braid in the middle of a book and put something on top so it keeps it under tension when spooling it on? Hopefully the dye will rub off on the paper lol
  7. Thanks mate loving the price of it!! I'll go with 30lb and get it in black
  8. Can anyone recommend a cheapish braid for a marker setup please? Ive never had a setup for a marker float so I don't really know what I'm buying lol thanks
  9. I use this one mate http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sonik-SKS-Weigh-Sling-With-Rods-Support-Bars-Carp-Fishing-Sling-SKSWSWR-/252192472847?hash=item3ab7d7bf0f:g:uvkAAOSwAKxWXEgJ Great bit of kit and takes seconds to put together/snap down and put it back in the bag.
  10. Just had my stuff delivered..the centre pin reel, rig winders and catapults are great but the float rod is naff. Its all floppy but for £10 I didn't expect much. I'll give it a go anyway, might be alright lol. The other problem was they sent me two ground bait catapults when I ordered a boilie catapult and a groundbait catapult. I'm going to email them and see if I can get it sorted out
  11. Thanks mate and will do, just got it ordered now
  12. I've been trying to use a mortar gun recently and its been a nightmare, so I've been looking at getting myself a proper one. What do you think of this one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MEDIUM-BOILIE-MAKING-SAUSAGE-BAIT-CARP-FISHING-GUN-FUNNEL-10-30mm-/291854813088?hash=item43f3e707a0:g:hekAAOSw-itXvcMf I'm not looking to make loads, just the odd kilo every few months.
  13. Ok mate thanks, what hooklink do you recommend? Never used one when float fishing before, usually just fish straight through lol
  14. Thanks for the info mate I'm going to get some stick floats, split shots and hooks ordered now. I've got a spool of dinsmores syndicate 6lb 0.20mm line that I haven't used yet, would that be okay? The river I'll be fishing has some decent chub in and I fancy trying to catch one of them too
  15. Just ordered the marco cortesi centre pin for £25, never used a centre pin before but after watching a few videos it does look fun
  16. I was thinking the same, never heard of the brand before but do you think it's worth £25?
  17. Cheers mate having a look now
  18. How wide do you need it to be to put over the hook/knot? Its been that long since I bought any I can't remember the size I purchased
  19. I like to go as light as possible, but I think its down to where you're fishing..if I'm fishing a big open reservoir I'd take a brolly, but if I'm fishing a smaller lake I won't take one unless there's rain forecasted for that day
  20. My dad uses the Fox A pod, its a nice bit of kit and really sturdy. I use bank sticks but I've been looking at getting the Fox X pod.. But I see there's one of the same design for £50 cheaper done by sonik, so might have to get that one instead http://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/sonik-sks-black-rod-pod
  21. Thanks for this! Ended up using some thin coated garden wire, wrapped it around a baiting needle to make a spring and tied it on a hair. Going to test it out in a minute
  22. Great value for money mate been using diawa sensor for years for all my fishing
  23. Wouldn't a maggot feeder or a pill bottle be too big? Sorry for any confusion but I meant something like this
  24. Just made some cheese paste and was wondering if its possible to make your own paste cages or if theres a better way to use it? Any info would be great thanks
  25. Thanks for the replies, been reading some reviews and from what you guys say, I think I'll give them a miss. Is there anything similar you can recommend? I'm just looking for something easy to travel with on a push bike
