50/50 Tim. Cech, DeBuchy, Chambers, Gibbs, Giroud. Oxlaide-Chamberlain off injured after 5 minutes and replaced with Walcott who also went off injured 10 minutes later. And the Wednesday player who scored the third goal should have been sent off midway through the first half. But we didn't create a good chance until the last ten minutes when there were two chances that Giroud didn't even try for. There are a lot of excuses that we can hide behind, but the cold truth is Sheffield Wednesday were the better team, hands down. -

Well done to Sheffield Wednesday. Thoroughly deserved to win tonight, and the score doesn't flatter them either. We were totally shocking, poor performances by everyone with no desire and no urgency; but that's not taking anything away from Sheffield Wednesday. They were the better team, hands down. Our entire team should be fined a month wages for a complete lack of passion. They weren't fit to wear the shirt tonight!!!! -
Chipstead Lake, also known as Longford Big Lake, is an Holmesdale Angling Club water. It's 74 acres and has depths between 3 feet and 40 feet. It's by no means an easy water, but there are carp in there up to mid thirty and there are rumours of bigger and even unbanked fish. It's more a mixed coarse fishery over a pure carp fishery and there are (As far as I have heard ) massive shoals of bream (As well as roach, tench, eels etc.) in there which could plague you; but if you get through them the rewards are there. I had a walk around there a couple of years ago with a view to joining and found all of the swims to be cut into a crowded (With foliage) bank with nowhere to fit a bivvy. If you want to do only days there then you'll be fine, but for session fishing it's not up to scratch, in my opinion. The water is also used by the Chipstead sailing club for various water sports.

Keep at it EC. As has been said, the location may have been wrong, or they may not have fancied the bait. Once you break your duck, I'm sure the floodgates will open

Nope. You're still mid table also runs Well done to Bilic for getting a few points that you normally wouldn't get, but I seem to remember Wet Spam being in the top 4 last year early in the season... ...How did that work out -
What were you using on the feeder (Groundbaits, pellets, etc.)? How were you presenting the bait (In the feeder or hanging loose)? Is it a flat bed feeder? I think the boys may be right and three were a lot of small fish around, however I think that there were still other issues as you didn't hook any of them either (A small skimmer can get a 16mm boilies and size 8 hook into its mouth ). The hair being too long is definitely one. In my opinion, you want a short rig and a short hair so that as soon as the bait is sucked up, so is the hook.
-
P.S. To eliminate tangles, an anti tangle sleeve to your rig (Where it connects to your swivel ) and a PVA nugget or small PVA stick to the hook. Personally, I never cast out a bare hook. The majority of the time I use PVA nuggets, but do also make a stick mix and use a stick occasionally.
-
Like John and NM, I use a quick link. Great for a quick change of the rig If, however, you want to tie it to the swivel then a palomar to the hook link is not the best way (In my opinion). Tie the swivel to the main line with a palomar, then you tie a loop in the rig with a figure of eight knot. To attach the rig you put the whole loop through the rig and then pull the rest of the rig through the loop. This is the strongest way of attaching both mainline and rig to a swivel using simple knots (All in my opinion, of course )

Liverpool have sacked Brendan Rogers. Really poor decision, in my opinion. It should have happened in the close season, not seven games in. Looks like Jurgen Klopp has a new job -
Had a 16 mirror, a 15 and a 1/2 common and a 5 and a 1/2 bream. Considering that they were the only fish to come out of two lakes since I got there late Friday; a pretty successful weekend, in my opinion

Wet Spam won't win any green cards with Bilic. He'll get a good few reds himself this season I think it's a rubbish idea. Punish cheating in the game properly; job done!! -

Bournemouth robbed so far. They should be 1-0 up, not 1-0 behind. -

Good win for Wet Spam. They defended well as a team and took their chances well. Ironic that both goals were mistakes by our new great hope who will make the difference in this years title race -
When fishing the chod rig, I use a slide off bead at the bottom. The idea is that the bead will keep the rig a ways up the lead core on the cast and then come off when playing the fish so that the lead is tight to the rig with, as you rightfully point out, minimum movement.

Great game of footy. We should have scored a couple more in the second half with one on one's. For once Mourinho was out done tactically and he wasn't happy -

I think that Bilic is a good move provided he knows how to grounf out a result like BFS. The problem with top flight football these days is that a lack of instance success can be, and often are, totally disastrous. Bilic needs to be given a couple of years to get it right; but he needs to ensure relatively comfortable Premier League survival at the same time. Not an easy task. And watching the Anniversary Games this weekend, the new stadium is going to be totally rubbish. I forgot that one of the conditions is that they have to keep the running track. I hope a season ticket comes with a free pair of binoculars -

World Cup qualifying group for England: Group F contains: England, Slovakia, Scotland, Malta, Lithuania, Slovenia -
It's a completely safe rig. You don't need to drop the lead. Used in the right situation it can bring rich rewards. You need to make sure that you use a system which ensures the rig can be easily ejected in the event of a crack off. It's great used with lead core (Provided you are competent with using leadcore and your waters allow it )
