  1. Can i add another question into this post? What company of hooks do you prefer to use? I am guilty of using the korda wide gapes this season, as this was my first season of carp fishing, i seen an episode of thinking tackle, thought they look great, and used them all season, ive had quite a good season on them but how many fish have i not hooked up due to the bluntness off the hooks, which i have only recently read about. So, i want to go into the 2012 season, with a new hook which i will be more confident in, as i will be fishing a more challenging water and cant afford to not hook up due to a blunt hook. So what company should i go with? people mention the fox arma points? the fang twisters? i hear gardner make good hooks? Please help? Thanks in advance, Ross
  2. I fished the smaller lake a few years ago and only had small carp of 3 or 4lb no bream in sight, never bothered with the bigger lake, was just a social there for us for the day
  3. Not good to hear, I know over the summer they lowered the level to make it possible for more night anglers to put up their bivvys, it would seem the level hasn't recovered as they had anticipated. IMO It has been going downhill quite rapidly recently, but as it is the closest place to my house and is accessible by public transport, I'm not left with much option... If I'm honest, I doubt I'll be fishing again until I can go further afield and join a syndicate. They reason the water level is low is because that reservoir is used to feed the grand (union?) canal. So when the canal is low they use the reservoir to fill it back up, but I'm unsure how the ressy fills back up, the water level goes down every year and then will get back up eventually.
  4. £8 per rod? i think i went it was a £12 for 2 rods which was like 2 months ago i guess. maybe cheaper now, since the days are shorter, but many peopole still doing 24 hours on there i think. Yeah, i think it is 8 quid for 1 rod, which isnt avoidable becuase the baliffs are nearly always there it is expensive, but if he wants a few runs will be worth the money, if he dosnt mind dodgy mouths etc... Christmas can be a good time of year if your careful and, if youve won the lottery Yeah, sorry about that, I meant £8 for one rod lol. I was enquiring because I was going to treat a mate who is popping up to a day session, but we'd leave when the sun went. Can't afford £16 plus his rod licence & bait for a few hours, not with the EVIL holiday approaching :/ Damn I hate this time of year, not much fishing, dodgy roads and pointless holidays, not to mention I become a year older!! ROLL ON THE SPRING!!! It can't come quick enough!

  6. Sorry guys, you lost me, I'm too young to have listened to napalm death etc, let alone see them live. Best gig I've being to is Zebrahead. Don't no of you've heard of them, but they are mint! Proper ska punk I guess?
  7. Wait and bleed, best song they ever done!
  8. only the first album. After the first album, there music went downhill, rapidly I thought.
  9. Why is that disrespectful? job well done if i can put a smile of someones face
  10. Cob, I fished it 2 weeks ago, up in peg 91 end of the road side. Had 18 carp in 24 hours. 4 where doubles, biggest being 16lb. Had a couple of F1 though. I also filmed my session, if you want to watch, just type in carefulcarping into YouTube and its episode 10. Tight lines. Ross.
  11. He said its pointless as in the sense of that mainline is incredibly well hidden, on this thread Nick states he uses it for anti tangle purposes and not to camouflage his mainline.
  12. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=8852 Any use? Just put a hook in the water and you'll catch, just don't fish up the shallow end...
  13. Who the hell resurrects a 2+ year old post!!! The person who commented before you, he has only made 3 posts in total, just a small error on his part, trying to be helpful.
  14. Good info, but I think he is already in Australia. The post was made 2 and a 1/2 years ago
  15. Haha. I can only imagine how tiring the journey must of being, but how big where the carp you caught?
  16. How big where the carp? Should of left one rod out on mean incase a catfish came along Also, don't you do night fishing to fish and not sleep? You can sleep when you get home
  17. Definitely the best. Stood the test of time, so I see no reason to change. I have never had a Kryston braid or coated braid give way on me, and their putty is also the best www.kryston.com Only just started using putty, and got the kryston stuff, it's ace! Seem like a great company, looks like the kryston braid is a winner on this thread
  18. Only used ESP strip teaze coated braid, done me well this year, but have never used coated braid before so cant compare with any other braid.
  19. The water level is still fairly low, so I've being told. Covering the legs of the boards but still a few feet low
  20. I use Strip Teaze coated braid, I think it's ESP but don't hold me to it. Never noticed it cracking at knot, and I use the palarama knot? Or how ever it's spelt and pronounced. Also, does it matter if the coating cracks? Asking as the main braid itself isn't damaged? Ross
  21. That is pretty epic, how you didn't get you elastic snapped il never know haha. I fish coarse pools for mainly small carp an tench, biggest carp I've caught is 7.5 lb so not massive, I quite enjoy it, it's what me and my dad love to do together, then I go off on my own with my rods for bigger carp. It's fun, but wouldn't advise catching monsters on a pole
