  1. good answers, just thoght id ask, rig mechanics can be confusing
  2. yeah defonately gary, and as always your rigs are very neat, but will the tubinig still coil between the points of the coiled weight or even worse cause an arch?
  3. is this a cheaper option? maybe used with soldering iron instead of out of leadcore?
  4. Anything you like mate as long as it isnt water based? Put the hook through then twist the bag then put hook through again, mine never come off mate
  5. What a pointless idea in my opinion! Thought you were supposed to improve on products, not make them worse and takes away the versatility of single alarms. By buying these your restricting yourself so much!
  6. Slide a korda sinker up your mainline then slide a bead over it then yor hooklink then another sinker and bead then tie on your lead (safety clip) simples
  7. Just bought my self some, 1320 metres 12lb 0.30mm, 11 quid. Will be spooling my reels tomorrow and hopefully get a chance to try it out tomorrow as well so will give it a review soon
  8. Spot on mate exactly the same
  9. as cc said your hooklength is free running on your mainline so if your mainline snaps the length can slide off. alot of people use leadcore leaders and if thats the case then you must make sure the bead and your hooklength can freely pass over the knot that joins the leadcore to your mainline, make sense?
  10. bought a copy, just gotta find time to read it!
  11. hi mate, welcome to the forum as for what to make your hair rigs out of all depends on the lake your fishing and different situations mate. you can use mono, braids or fluorocarbon?
  12. i know not the best knot but i know what knot not to use
  13. use the search mate for knots, theres a good thread with diagrams, remember always to moisten your knots!
  14. a fixed rig is where the hooklength is fixed to the lead and dangerous to the fish because if you get snapped off the fish will be trailing the lead around. heli rigs are fine as long as the hooklenth is not fixed. hope this helps. just put some thought into your rigs for the fishes safety, i.e, if i get snapped up what is the fish gonna be trailing?
  15. hi mate, theres no set length fo a hooklength. im always playing about with short and long hooklengths and short and long hair lengths? if your just starting out mate id probably use a 6inch hooklength then have a play around with lengths till you find one your happy with and its catching fish
  16. you could try a heli set up mate. if fishing zig into weed make sure the lead can drop off as it makes it alot easier and safer to fish. but type in zig on google or the search on here how to set them up mate.
