  1. You are only allowed to post what you have forgotten here whilst on the bank, Today I have forgotten my jogging bottoms, you may notice I have my socks though And also there was a big dirty rat by my rods
  2. I thought this place was a forum for free thinking carp anglers, I've ignored the jibes up till now I don't claim to be right all the time but I shouldn't be ridiculed for having an opinion which is different to the herd 😏 I've also never said that a 10ft rod is suitable for all situations, but it is more suitable for mine and that's why I use it, If I needed to cast a long way I would use more suitable rods
  3. I think what you mean is use what suits your fishing and if you need to use broomsticks to cast out then so be it,😀 Seriously though it does seem like we will all have to agree to disagree on this one, and let's be honest as long as you are fishing and happy with your tackle does it really matter, it would be boring if we all liked/did the same thing
  4. Thanks for some reason Ive wanted to use a banana bait for a while, and also everyone nowadays seems to be using 2 types of boilies rather than just one it seems like I may be missing out only using one ,but I am quite happy with the bait I'm using at present tbh just wondered if you had tried it I may get some at some point but I know the fish I want to catch seems to already like the bait I am using so I am not going to switch now
  5. That should be fine the micromix would be good for bags also as they are all small pellets Is that the rebranded bf Corp nick?
  6. Xx mix looks like a decent mix I think
  7. Retrobaits are cheap not used them myself though but I seem to remember someone on here recommended them
  8. That's why I suggested the Amwell mixes they have a good variety of pellet in them including the GLM ones
  9. The reason I ask is they take up a lot of space in the freezer so if buying in bulk you really need the space but buying in bulk always works out cheaper
  10. Have you got a freezer to store fresh bait or do you need shelf life boilies ? Been looking at these lately seem a good value pellet mix https://www.amwellbaitandfeed.co.uk/pellets/amwell-mixed-pellets
  11. Yes but as long as you wear them for both it should still give you the same results and stronger calves 👍 And thanks its been tough to explain 😁
  12. I get that some people will have better technique and we don't cast exactly the same each time, and this is just a Fag packet theory that could probably never be proved, but in a perfect situation with everything identical, I think with a shorter rod the lead would go to point B closer to the water more directly, meaning it would arrive at point b and continue to travel towards the bottom and push further under the tree as the angle it enters the water would mean it would continue further than a longer rod which will have travelled in a bigger arc meaning it will enter the water at a bigger angle and drop shorter than the short rod I don't know if I can explain it much better than that but. That's my theory
  13. In theory I think the shorter rod would have a more direct route to the 60 yard spot so will therefore be more likely to travel further That's a question for this time of night Again I would assume that the 12foot rod would have lost more momentum as it travelled further to get to the same point
  14. No i get that but I am just suggesting that if you did have a test that used identical conditions then the 10ft would go under the fictional crossbar more often than the 12ft
  15. Just suppose you release them at exactly the same point the 12 foot rod will travel higher than the 10ft so there fore out of say 100 casts the 10 foot rod would be closer to the tree more often than the 12 footer as the angle it would enter the water means it will go further under the tree as the 12 foot lead would enter the water at a slightly straighter angle therefore dropping shorter
  16. Just going to add on my last comment Suppose you are trying to cast under an overhanging tree at say 40yds Surely the smaller rods arc will mean the lead is travelling closer to the water meaning the angle to get it as close under the tree is possible is higher? And the 12 footer the lead will travel farther away from the water increasing the chance of clipping the tree, Think of a 25 yard free kick with a wall of adults and a wall of kids, you can give it more power over the kids rather than having to attempt an up and down type free kick over the adult wall (I hope that makes sense) What I think I mean is 12 foot rod is more likely to hit the crossbar 😀
  17. I dont think anyone has suggested a shorter rod will out perform a 12 foot rod at distance, But in reverse surely a bigger arc won't be as accurate at shorter distances as the lead has more work to do before it hits the water ? (this is just my thoughts BTW)
  18. Why do you always call me dave? My names not dave it's??!
  19. That was a tame one BTW starting with bug ending with Tony the tigers favourite phrase
  20. But no swearing don't even think you [censored] will make it past the swear filter 😀
  21. It's for those hairy moments you need a 10ft rod 😁
  22. I left a tub accidently open in my bag in the car the other week and left them in there for a day or so before I went back who needs a magic tree air freshener when you have scent from hell I had to leave the windows open for a while though 😂
