Had 2 of them snap on me within an hour of each other. Never used nash hooks since. Sure they probably just a bad batch but confidence and all that mate .

Why is it libellous to have an opinion on something?. I personally think nash hooks are toilet. Loads of people love them . Just my opinion.

As much as I love carp I'd probably be more interested in the perch tbh.

I'd imagine there's some proper monsters lurking in the Thames. Perfect environment for a carp to live a long life and grow big.

Wish I was out fishing tonight. Got temps still into the 20s as I type this with a low front moving in through the early hours . Work tomorrow and a bout of bronchitis means I've got no chance 😭

I've been watching a quite a few YouTube vids of terry lately. Love the lady pearl vid. Was gonna watch the search for black eye tonight but might watch this instead.

And there's me always saying I wish i had a decent river near me . I live in London. Doh.

The last few winters I've done really well on purple pop ups. 2 different flavours but both good results.

A second rod out at the same time ?

Yep. And the worst thing was I booked Monday off work to do a day down the local for probably the last time this year and I came down with a bug Sunday night so couldn't even go.

As far as I know it's the local council that own the lakes. A local club tried to get the rights to the lakes a few years back but nothing ever came of it. The security are not really that bothered until they get a call from one of the residents. And as the residents are not allowed to fish themselves they get very annoyed if they see anybody who looks like they are trying to get on the lake. The plan is to find somewhere tucked away in woodland side or just to cut a way in .

It's pretty much done for this year I think mate. Got my missus 40th and my daughter's 10th birthdays next month and then Xmas so need to start smashing the overtime. Probably do a reccy over the winter to work out a plan for next spring.

Not an option mate Cctv on the side of the lake you would have to get In the boat. No islands either.

I don't mind the gimp suit but I wouldn't be seen dead dressed as a dog. Early mornings not really practical with work. There is an area of woodland on one side of the bigger lake that we are gonna try and find a route through and make our own swim. There's also another lake but it's surrounded by thick reeds and just looks a mission to be able to make an area that's fishable.

Need a new angle I think. We got seen by a passer by who called security . Luckily the security were not the brightest and were checking the wrong lake . Walked straight past them with the scopes tucked away in the rucksack on the way back to the car.

Off to the secret lake this evening. Let's hope with this warmer weather I'll be able to see some of the rumoured biggies. Heard a rumour of somebody guesting 2 years ago that had a 40lb + out.
