They are in the there mate. Its a big water and im limited to where ibcan fish and also seems like there are some proper deep areas. Gonna be hard .

Im at the secret lake , seen 2 very large carp breach in the last 20 mins but well out of the area i can get too.

I will have a look into that, cheers mate.From what ive seen tonight nobody has been fishing there for a while if at all. Ive found a little bit on google that says somebody was fishing there in 2017 but thats it.

Got tuesday night pencilled in already. If i park my car near to the lake i will get a ticket. If i walk from the closest place i can legally park that i know of at the moment then i have to walk past the security hut with my gear. But i want that dark mirror so i will find a way.

Found a new lake to guest at this evening. Was looking at a likely spot when the fish decided to put on a show for me. Saw a total of 6 carp in about half an hour, one of them was a lovely dark mirror, probably a high 20. Just gotta work out a route to get my gear down there without being seen . And take some sheers to make a swim.

Only reason being i catch more with milks than fishmeal and last time i went there 2 years ago i ended with 25 fish for the week at an average of over 36lb. The next best was 11 fish.

Just got to the new lake im fishing. The lake is 6 acres and holds about 30 carp. Ive already seen the big common, hasnt been out in nearly 2 years. I saw him about 2 months ago when i was walking round and he had most of the stock with him. So im thinking im in the right place at the moment , im just having a ciggie and gonna take my time , sit back and watch for bit before i disturb the water.

Its weird down my way this year, we seem well behind on everything and its normally the opposite. There are no chicks , ducklings etc on our lakes yet and no sign of spawning either .

Its a shame mate, what part of the country is this mate, if i remember correctly your one of the few members that are near to my neck of the woods.

No mate. A few hours on the river and then we gave up, 9 foot scopes and 3 ounce leads dont really work well on a river like the rhone. Its gutting, the lake in question was originally stocked in the 1850s and held carp to over 70lb. God knows how old some of those fish were. I found out this afternoon that its all because some sellfish prick put a koi in the lake at some point last year, now all the fish are dead.

So apparently the lake has cev , but all the dead or dying fish ive seen are mirrors. The deaths started in january and apparently most of the stock was wiped out within six weeks. Any ideas , i thought cev only affected common carp.

Tried a part of an arm off the main river this morning but it just looked completely devoid of fish. The main river is raging at the minute and the water is ice cold, i would imagine its all the melt water from the alps. Just getting a kebab and gonna have a few beers and put it down to experience.

No compensation, its a public lake, ive been checking every day for the last month on google and nothing came up. Found one likely spot on the river so will have to give that a go tomorrow.

Been walking the rhone for 2 hours looking for a spot but not really found anything yet. Im gutted.
