  6. Hi mate, i have fished it a few times this year , any decent boilie topped of with something yellow seems to do the trick, i had a couple of 20lb commons on my 1st trip plus a couple of low doubles, make the effort to go to the top part of the lake to get away from the crouds and you should do allright, if you ring the balif when you arrive he will take all your stuff to your desired swim for a quid, hope this helps, mufty

  10. I fished a short day session last summer with my brother in law, he had 5 small carp to 7lb on maggot , i used boilie and the crays wouldnt leave me alone, the bailiff has cray fish traps all over the lake and reckons if you use the tails off the crayfish they can produce some of the bigger carp, im going for a 48 hour session in august so if you go down there before me let know how you get on mate, also go on google earth, gives you a good idea of where the sandbanks are and the deeper areas, cheers mufty

  15. hi mate, i used to fish long lake a couple of years ago, never had any bother myself but did hear a few rumours, last time i fished it there were a few fish going belly up but the baliff didnt seem that bothered so i never went back, as far as the fishing goes try and go during the week , its nice and quite, its had some lovely carp in there with a good average weight [around the 20 mark] and some massive cats [ over 100] staying mobile seemed to work best for the carp and stalking in the corners could be very productive, hope this helps, mufty
  16. i have heard it mentioned that the colour red becomes invisible under water, just wondering if that means that carp cannot see red boilies? mufty

  18. personally i fish the two speci lakes, 7 and 8, tbh mate its a bit of false advertising as the average size is low to mid double but ive had some good fun on them lakes and they have some lovely ghosties and koi,a lot of the bigger fish seem to come from the margins, and the middle of the lakes are extremely snaggy, hope this helps henry, cheers mufty
