I don't mind the gimp suit but I wouldn't be seen dead dressed as a dog. Early mornings not really practical with work. There is an area of woodland on one side of the bigger lake that we are gonna try and find a route through and make our own swim. There's also another lake but it's surrounded by thick reeds and just looks a mission to be able to make an area that's fishable.

Need a new angle I think. We got seen by a passer by who called security . Luckily the security were not the brightest and were checking the wrong lake . Walked straight past them with the scopes tucked away in the rucksack on the way back to the car.

Off to the secret lake this evening. Let's hope with this warmer weather I'll be able to see some of the rumoured biggies. Heard a rumour of somebody guesting 2 years ago that had a 40lb + out.

My mate fishes specimen lake at furnace quite a lot. It's got a few cats in there but nowhere near as many as the others. I've fished it once and it's a nice little lake with the swims nice and spaced out but it's far too overpriced for what it is.

Keep an eye on them mate as I have had them split before 48 hours in the past. Also when cooking I boil until I can crush them into a mush between my thumb and forefinger. If they bounce out they are not ready.

Thing is he's gonna get all the haters spilling there venom his way anyway. I know these sort of lake are not everybody's cup off tea but nobody deserves abuse just for catching a fish.

I read that he said that he has been carp fishing since 82 and he wants his 5 minutes of fame so will be going for the record.

Will it be accepted do you reckon?. Apparently the lake done 3 different 60s In a week. Sounds more like a French type venue .

I've never tried with the tinned ones. I'd imagine as they are already soaked In water they wouldn't really absorb much . Turmeric is one of my favourites when preparing them myself, especially in the colder months.

Great bait imo. Good for baiting up with too as they are so cheap. If I'm just baiting I'll use straight out of the tin. If I'm gonna use them as a hookbait too then I prepare them myself as the tinned ones are too soft. They take on colour and flavour really well too.

Total opposite for me. The older I get the harder it seems to drag my butt out of bed.

It's the 1st time I've fished a water like this. Living where I do it's a very rare thing. Anyway fished free line prawn earlier, 2 foot from the bank. Resulted in my 1st fish . Only a little one but we saw a couple more that looked a lot bigger.

Going again tonight after work. Haven't been this exited about fishing in ages.

I use quite long hairs so I'd be worried about the bait being wrapped around the hook or some sort of tangle . It's a small stick for me every time. I have at least 4 or 5 made up in case of miscasting when casting to a feature.

So there was only room for one rod where we were fishing so I was ghillie for the couple of hours we were there. My mate managed this lovely common. Will be my turn next.

Be getting to the secret lake just before dark. One rod , pva sticks already made up and a loaf of bread just in case they are on the surface. Can't wait.

Been doing a bit more research. Apparently quite a few of the bigger fished were moved to pastures new. But there are definitely some lumps still in there. Went there this morning before work and had a small one feeding on bread in the lillies. A few were crashing too and one made that sound that only a big carp can. Hopefully start fishing on Saturday night.

Im gonna be doing a little bit on a lake over the next couple of months that probably hasn't seen an angler for 4 years or so. It's in the middle of a new housing estate and is technically no fishing allowed. I've found a few spots where I'm hidden away and have seen around 10 carp so far , all around the 20lb Mark. Rumours of 40lb plus carp and some massive tench. Gonna be an adventure.

If I haven't shaved for a while I always get a bite. If I'm clean shaven I struggle . That's good enough for me lol -
Have to.remember that one. At 2am yesterday morning I was in the garden in a wet towel after a cold shower and I was still sweating lol. Think I might move to a cooler country like Spain or something.

10 minutes of rain and still sweating my cods off here mate. I love the summer but this week has drained me. Never thought I'd hope for cool weather.

Haven't hardly had a cloud in the sky for weeks now. The night I wanna watch the lunar eclipse with my little girl it's total cloud cover .
