  1. I haven't used them fella, which is unusual as I love their gear.
  2. Same here, except I don't use any on fluoro stiff rigs. Likewise. I've seen them get away with it with tubing too but it does seem to make a difference. You can get it off ebay for a quid a meter: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heat-Shrink-Various-Colours-Sizes-Lengths-Sleeving-Heatshrink-Tube-wire-/111833021309?var=&hash=item1a09c47b7d:m:mpdQE0Qxl4DGE-XAwxOrZZg
  3. For sure chill, a 2.75 doesn't have the power to deal with a 4 oz properly. A 3 oz maybe, but I'd bet optimal casting weight is 2.5 oz. And using optimal weight a rod in that TC is simply not designed to hit 150!
  4. Very good alarms by all accounts. I have been told by two owners that fluoro skips over the standard rollers, apart from that I've heard of no problems.
  5. Lol..... not really if you use £1,500 lightweight reels, purpose made casting lines, and you master tournament casting techniques? Helps if you're Terry Edmonds too Like I said, realistically, it aint gonna happen, juts my opinion buddy. I'd bet there's a handful of guys in this country who could put a baited rig 150 with a 2.75. I certainly aint one of them.
  6. Years ago a pal of mine was fishing three hemp seeds threaded along the length of a fine hair on a simple hair rig, introduced with a mesh bag of seeds. It was similar to what you're doing there in that there was no bait of significant weight/mass to aid rig mechanics, it was as close to fishing a bare hook as I've seen anyone do. I remember thinking he was nuts until he bagged up on carp and tench.
  7. For that money you want to call nick buss and get some customs made up. Tell him what your requirements are and he'll build you your perfect rods. Contact details on the century website.
  8. I have a mate that played around with this type of rig. It didn't work:-(
  9. Ah, I get ya...... For a period I used these to enable quick change of links: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quick-Change-Q-Rings-Rings-Carp-Fishing-Tackle-Links-Rig-Rings-Link-Loops-Black-/151475152065?var=&hash=item23449f64c1:m:mjwmu6Toumpmgl9xcf1nrbQ
  10. Why not re-tie the leader onto the mainline instead of the dropper to the leader?
  11. Yeah defo the pigment fella.
  12. I did not I'll be re-spooling with the 18 lb again in the coming weeks. I'll keep my eye on that!
  13. I quite like the colour Chill..... pop it on the deck next time your down the pond, it blends in pretty well with almost anything. Do know what you mean though - when I fist spooled up it surprised me too. Glad you like it otherwise, that abrasion resistance is something else eh..... defo the toughest line I've used. You use the same reels as me fella. That pic could be of my spool lol.....
  14. There is no standard but the most common are a size 12. Size 11 seem to be popular too nowadays (both Korda and Gardner have moved from 12 to 11 I think), along with the smaller sizes 8s and 9s. The size 12 is what I consider to be a standard ring swivel and will fit most heli set ups.
  15. The narrow puncture proof wheel is pants bud, it tends to slip and slide all over the place in mud which aint good for maintaining balance. There's no tread on it which doesn't help.
  16. 150 with a 2.75 is completely unrealistic IMO.
  17. That! A great caster will cast a 2.75 TC rod 120 yards. A bad caster will struggle to hit 100 with a 3.50 TC rod. Check out Mark Hutchinson and Terry Edmonds casting vids on Youtube, they added miles to my casting.
  18. I use these for zigs. They drop the lead much better than your std lead clip. Wet the clip and just push the tail rubber on a tiny bit. Drops the lead every time and can withstand big casts.
  19. Tight git lol
  20. Set of each would be perfect bud!
  21. Just been sorting my gear out and a full set of top end rods, reels, and alarms are missing ... looked on ebay but none on there ... might have to buy a whole new range unless i can get them from somewhere else......
  22. The Nash is massive and very heavy, and that's without the 3rd skin (which IMO is a pretty pointless product). I'd avoid this unless you plan on doing long-stay static fishing (this is not the bivvy you want if you intend to stay on fish). Decent for long session holiday angling where you cannot move I guess. My mate had one and hated it, it's like building a house every time you put it up. The M3 is right up there with the Armo and the Titan as one of the best all-round bivvies going. A very, very good shelter.
  23. As a base to pump full of my own attractors I think the mainline wafters are as good as any you can get off the shelf. They're pretty thirsty i.e. they take on liquids very readily. Rarely use wafters but when I do I use mainline.
  24. I use cheap rubbish from B&M in my Delks, not changed them in 2 years. Still going strong. Shows how much I catch I guess......
