  1. This one ? Behr Red Carp Aluminium Rod Pod https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00D82S2FC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_dRv5xbVTRVSDV
  2. My pod is carbon I think so goes up (and down) nice & quietly Gaz . I can imagine those big Solar jobbies clanking away on set up Some one'll put me right on that no doubt :)
  3. Another good reason there Phil , size , folds down nice & compact .
  4. Oh I agree mate , I just wondered what makes people choose the pod they choose . I myself just consider a pod to be a glorified double/treble banksticks to rest yer rods on . BC above came up with versatility as the main reason why he uses what he uses . But £250 ? I could ( for a change) go out and buy one tomorrow but I'm interested in what makes people choose one pod over another ?
  5. That's very good post BC , versatility
  6. Yep Sallopettes a BIG feature of the aforementioned Speci suit . Proper toastie .
  7. I did say "if you can get hold of one" They occasionally come up on EBay or somewhere like Eric's or Chapmans but I think RT may have superseded it with a newer model , so to speak . They always got rave reviews so if Ron Thompson still make winter suits the more expensive ones (which will still be reasonable) will definitely be worth a look .
  8. Evening ladies . Pods . Lovely ain't they ? Nice shiny ones , nice Matt black ones , stainless , square ones , round ones , long ones , cheap ones , all sorts ... I myself own a TFG Crosspod and I think it's great for the money , which wasn't an awful lot tbh , and my back up in case of emergencies is a cheapo one from Argos that I bought many many years ago ... The TFG is Probably one of the best value items of " tackle " along with my STi that I ever purchased although I'm not a great fan of pods as I like to use banksticks IF I can for various reasons . And I only reach for the pod if I'm faced with a swim that has one of those damned platforms and even then I'll try to find a patch of grass next to it for my sticks if I can . However what makes a pod ? Why are some cheap as chips and some are so ridiculously expensive that it would be difficult to justify spending that much money ? What has a Jag pod got that a Solar Pid hasn't ? What difference would it make WHICH pod ? It's just a functional item to rest your rods on isn't it ? Isn't it ?
  9. You can thank Messrs Levy and Hearn for that As I said the other day , don't believe what you read in the media ....
  10. Apologies Nige , I can't even remember what I said now .
  11. And for the dual guitar freaks
  12. If you can get hold of one , the Ron Thompson 2 piece specimen suit is the kiddy . As its not a trendy brand it'll be less than a nifty and you'll never ever need to look elsewhere . I promise .
  13. I hope you have previous experience with Pods Phil . I wouldn't like you to hurt anything in any way , maybe you should start off with a TFG pod or a couple of Dinsmore bank stocks before you progress to a Solar or Jag jobby ?
  14. He wanted the move Steve , Bilic obviously didn't fancy him and Tonka wanted regular first team football so when Palace offered 10 mill + add ons , va va voom There's too much going on at the same time over there . What looks like a rubbish pre-season resulted in an unfit second string being dumped out of Europe by a bunch of Rumainian pig farmers for the second year on the trot . The injury crisis . Again. Buying or loaning THIRTEEN average players NONE of which have improved last seasons first choice eleven . Failure to sign players at RB , CB and a goalscorer where additions were required , instead buying winger after winger in an attempt to justify trying to turn Antonio into a Right Back Individual mistakes/possible complacency ? Basically the rest of the PL has improved and we haven't .... And that's without even mentioning the new stadium ....and I could go on all night moaning about that . All I'll say is 2 things . Don't believe a word written in the tabloids , it's NOT a war zone . And don't believe a word spoken by Gold and Sullivan . Edited for swearing- nw
  15. I know it's early days but it's horrible knowing What's going to happen and then watching it unfold before your very eyes . And I know Bivvy knows where I'm going with this....
  16. lol . I agree TFG stuff has improved out of all recognition lately
  17. And people think Argos sell toot :)
  18. Is it the same as the Korum ruckbag ? If so they've ALL ripped Korum off ...
  19. I've gone off footy ....
  20. My Drennan catty lasted about 10 minutes and 3 elasticated later decided enough is enough and invested in the ESP's , both the Boilie & particle version . The Team England match catapult which Gary posted a picture of the other day is actually very very good . If you don't mind one bait at a time they go for a very long way . But being a match catty the elastic don't last long when I use em. I thing with catapults it's the same as other items of tackle . Some people swear by lots of stuff that have let me down in the past . I detest certain brands but others swear by them so it's swings & roundabouts .
  21. Settling down to watch the Chelski game , should be good for a few goals I think ....
  22. Looks a bit dark there mate . Hope you've been eating your carrots
