  1. Had a walk around it with my lad last year fishing mixers in the summer, only need one rod to catch a few we had quite a few doubles.
  2. Haven't heard that one before. Makes me wonder how people would get away with it without someone seeing and you got to catch them first and that aint always easy.
  3. Yeah, me and Welder were watching it last autumn just sat there taking no notice of us. Merrington 20+ on the worms
  4. Giving me secrets away but yes a big bunch of nightcrawlers is the way to go
  5. Yes the park rangers bailiff it.
  6. When you have removed DEAD teathered carp from snags attached to leadcore you really see the dangers of the stuff. One of my waters has banned leadcore for the above reason, six teathered fish in two years all on leadcore.
  7. A few little ones in the other pool, i really would stick to other waters as Madebrooke aint really a good carp water due to all the idiots etc you get around there all the time.
  8. Bolies and 15lb line, any less and they will do you in the reeds. If you aint used to fishing locked up when snag fishing then dont fish against the reeds you will only lose fish and risk leaving rigs in them.
  9. I used to live on the Banks of Holmer lake, now not really a noted carp water but me and my lad stalked a few nice one's out of there a few years ago.
  10. That's the problem with the idiots around there, they think its ok to move them about willy nilly without any thought for the present stock. I had the linear two or three years ago but i haven't seen it since so it's probably been nicked by some moron.
  11. Anybody who is quiet and has there wits about them can catch from the Blue. In the past i have had every big fish out of the pool and most of them within a couple of rod lengths out. Just be observant and you will find the spots, it just a case of a bit of hard work.
  12. When did you see it get stocked as TAA haven't stocked it and anyone else doing so has done it illegaly, risking the present fish in there. As for the biggest fish being 18lb you are deffo wrong there as heres a pic of a 20lb 8oz linear although i doubt it's still in there now with all the idiots moving fish out of there. The trouble with Madebrooke is the swans make it almost impossible to fish at times as they will drive you mad, also so many idiots get down there moving the fish about and losing them on light gear against the reeds etc. TBH there are far better carp waters in Telford than Madebrooke
  13. Biggest carp i know of at the moment is a 19lber, it might have a 20 or two but mostly a doubles water.
  14. Well I'm off to Rushes along with a few other nutters at whit. Was hoping for a trip over in Sept but my SELFISH daughter has decided to get married on the 4th Sept so that kind of ruined that idea.
  15. Aint being funny mate but its been frozen for most of the last two months. The cats are a warm water species so doubt you will see many of them out before April. As for baits anything works it's an easy water.
  16. I can see what you are saying but to me the ESP leaders supplied with a lead clip are one of the most dangerous products out there.
  17. £540 to fish a little concrete hole in the ground i dont think so. Good luck with your plans mate and i have no doubt you will get takers for it as a lot of carpers are desparate to get in a syndi. Personally i think for what you are offering it's way overpriced i pay £100 a year on one water for 22acres with carp to well over 30lb.
  18. Very good fishing book is I know a good place by Clive Gammon an excellent read. Any of the Yates books are worth reading and a must read carp book is The carp strikes back by Hutchy.
  19. Lots of singles with a few better fish, not a bad winter water though. Been a while since i fished it though, used to get down the middle of the pool and fish to the far bank. The Blue is a good winter water no matter what some of the locals say, i found it easy but i do know it like the back of my hand.
  20. Larford specimen lake could be worth a look, good head of fish with a few decent kippers as well.
  21. In the good old days i used to fish Manor quite a bit, had some stunning fish including a few of the well known linears etc. Eventually the place got busier and busier until i turned up one boxing day morning at first light to find most of the lakes rammed. Haven't been back since and doubt i will ever fish the place again, just cant be doing with that kind of fishing nowadays. PS. My avatar pic is a good linear 30+
  22. Personally i would use neither as both are putting an angle in the line meaning that the fish has that bit of leeway before you are in direct contact with it. You need the rod to be fixed rock solid in single banksticks pointing directly at the snags on as tight a line as possible. To be honest i would rather encourage the fish out of the snags by a bit of good bait application.
  23. By fishing slack lines near to snags you are giving the fish enough line to get to the snags before you are in direct contact with the fish. Fishing tight to snags you need to be fishing a tight line with the rod/reel locked up not giving any line and make sure you are sitting on the rod ready to get in control as soon as you get a take. This should stop the fish reaching the snags and give you a chance of landing it. I still use running leads in this situation but with a tight line.
