  1. You will have to wait until someone really in the know comes along to explain the scientific bit cos i dont know. All i do know is that they are both different from one another, they have different properties and flouro is a lot more expensive than mono. Just look at your ESP Ghost spool, it actually says 'Flourocarbon' on the label After all, would you pay £5 for a 20m spool of monofilament?
  2. Conditions look spot on as well
  3. Im off in about a hour (well when the F1 finishes) for 2 nights.
  4. What do you mean by 'bulking agents'? The Trigga Ice isnt a 'rubbish bait' mate. Its not like its bulked out with the usual semo/soya combo which far inferior baits usually do as you can see from the ingredient list below..... At the moment i dont use the liquid food with it, but i will do once autumn approaches and i ditch the fish oil that i use with it now.
  5. I like the Trigga Ice. I use that in a 50/50 ratio of another base mix for my summer bait. But during the autumn, the Trigga Ice will be my full blown bait in the run up to the winter where its all change again.
  6. I dont want to split hairs but ESP Ghost is a flourocarbon
  7. Get on it then mate. I would love to do Rookley for a week.
  8. I think the place is called Rookley Country Park Some decent fish in there as well so ive seen in the media etc
  9. You can use the n-butyric acid upto 1ml (24 drops) per 500g of dry mix if you wanted though. But i would only do that if the acid was the only smell/label in your bait.
  10. Well done for "sticking to your guns". It makes such a refreshing change to read posts on here about someone who has actually thought their fishing through by experimenting and comparing results (in other words..... 'Getting off their own backside to do it for themselves') instead of expecting all the answers on a plate for them. Keep hauling!
  11. What do you expect from fishing a commercial lake? I wouldnt touch one with a barge pole cos catching 'X' amount of fish in a hour is not fishing to me. Its all about money for the owner and unfortunately fish welfare is definately not at the top of the list.
  12. It is a pretty fish, slightly stunted but it is definately one for the photo album all the same Im not sure if you use one cos i cant see it in the photo, but an unhooking mat would be an idea
  13. And the bald eagle is the insignia for the "Screaming Eagles", the American 101st Airborne Division
  14. Well considering you are going just for a few days or upto a week, i wouldnt worry too much about the nutritional value of your bait. It would be hard to really establish a food bait in that short amount of time anyway. If you decide to go with a quality bait such as the Trigga or Odyssey, the ratio to bulk it out with a 50/50 (semolina/soya) base mix would be half and half. That way you are getting the budget bait which you say you want to keep the costs down, plus you have the added attraction of the dry ingredients of the quality bait that will keep on attracting the fish after the liquid attractor package have flooded out. Dont forget, you are after a quick hit so to speak and you need your bait to work from the off so i would definately suggest a flavour of some sort of around 3-4mls per 500g. You could even couple that with an essential oil as well And for the record, if you decide to go with the Trigga, ive heard that the Trigga Ice is even more instant. So you decide As for the rolling, definately dont worry about that at all. This is because each base mix is designed to roll and boil very well on its own, so putting them together will not make one jot of difference
  15. Speaking of pigeon conditioner or partiblend whatever you want to call it, (i take it that it is the same thing ). Ive been told that its more effective if you let it ferment just like you can do with tigers. Has anyone heard of this or is someone trying to feed me a line? Cos i do admit that is a new one on me.
  16. I REALLY want to but it depends on work. If they call overtime over the weekend then that has got to take preference. It doesnt help when you get texts from your fishing mates saying that the fish are going mad and getting caught for fun either. They are really having that post spawning munch up
  17. Lucky you mate, one sniff of the barmaids tea towel and im usually on my back
  18. It was on a Matt Hayes programme that he used a feeder with great success on the Monument. It seemed he used it like a lead on a lead clip arrangement with anti tangle tubing behind the tail rubber. It seemed to work for him Steve but im not sure of the safety aspect of the feeder having to release in case of a line breakage.
  19. Its my opinion Steve based on experiences and observations, albeit limited. Obviously im not saying its right, but i have far more confidence in my approach by fishing pop ups (if the fishing situation warrants it) without the use of an added PVA stick, and my results prove that. The reason being, a stick is supposed to add attraction to a hookbait. The contents of the stick mix will be hard on the deck of the lake, yet the pop should be wafting above it. To me thats unnatural and defeats the object of using the stick in the first place. Why attract the fish to the bottom of the lake to feed, then put it on guard by using a bait off it? To me it doesnt add up. Like i said, im confident in my approach that i can get more takes when using pop ups without the stick, than when using one. On the flipside, im also unsure of the presentation side of things. I dont want to risk my critically balanced pop up being snarled up in weed or bottom detrius when the stick takes it down to the lake bed cos the damn thing may get caught up and not sit like its supposed to do. Thank heavens for dissolving foam, that stuff is a godsend Obviously other people may think different, so it would be good to hear their views
  20. I definately wouldnt bother This place is cess pit chav central.
  21. And Hinders do suggest that you dont even need to soak it. Bring it to the boil and thats it, its done.
  22. Really? Personally i dont buy your viewpoint at all, but each to his own.
