A original version two ,Solar Sod pod ,the exterior leg version so I can fish two plus one on mega slate quarries ,( can't get banksticks in,, ever )... Bit of autosol, elbow grease ,proper job ...totally against my minimalist principles, but ....needs must ... Should be good ..

Big foot ....ha ha...no seriously .. Whatever it was spooked this deer ,as it ran past me,.. made a hellish crashing noise, what with the non stop rain ,thunder ,lightning, was a night to remember.. ( I loved it )...
-
Look at the tail on this rocket ,I had a hellish battle with it in about 30ft of water I reckon ,it was jet propelled.. I also had 12 others ,similar to my first pic ,but didn't want put em all up., just lovely to be out in raw nature ..

Sorry mate ,I should have explained better ,it's scat ...there's a lot of wildlife out there some if which is unaccounted for ,all sorts .. I've seen stuff ....

Also during the storm, I heard a right commotion behind me in the woods and saw a roe dissappear like a rocket past me in the half light ,in the morning I put my 'tracking ,predation head on ' and soon found this ...

Where I live there is an abundance of disused ,deep quarries, some are barren, and fishless...but a few have some surprises and have held carp and other species for many years .. When you fish these places, you have to think like a miner ,and find the galleries, which are mined ,and step down into unimaginable depths ,find the galleries and you find the patrol routes.. The weather was awful ,I had a river running under my shelter,at one point ,wind,rain,hail,thunder,lightning..and a big fear of falling branches made it interesting..,then all the mica, clay residue gets everywhere...anyway .. I found the marginal gallery, and fished very simple running lead tactics ,using the Ressi specials I use a lot..After the storm had passed ,I seen kingfisher, heard deer rutting, and woodpeckers, nature at its best ..

Here's my Casper having a pint down by our local pub.. Like as mentioned ,kind words indeed,I looked at him as my little buddy spoilt rotten ,but well trained and socialised very well...( except near water lol 😂

I'm on three day sess,it's a tad damp lol I'll deffo sort a pic out of my boy ,I've never been so upset when he passed on,but we had a lot of good mini adventures ,bushcrafting at night ,wild cooking, lots of fun ..only reason I not got another is I'm still sad ...

I know what you mean ,I used some Gull wetsuit booties ,they were great til the warmth made them sweat a bit ,proper stinky ...then I tried carp tec welded socks ,they were good but wore out..

Yes ,I got fed up lugging heavy water around ( not heavy water as in making bombs lol )...anyway I got into another hobby ,it'd never take over from my fishing, but that's where my minimalist interest started, its great fun, one thing ,I try to do is remain comfortable, being minimal doesn't mean ,pain lol...xx I took one of the Carp Chronical podcasts chaps for a sess as he lived In the valley nearby ,upto upper Tamar ...I had great fun ,thinning his kit down for a laugh ,...he was absolutely gobsmacked, what I took from his rucksack ...that was very fun..,no carp bay ,that was in .. ( a bit of fun ,but with a good end result,no hernia or back problems )..
-
I didn't know this ,but 20.000 people voted on change.org thingy ...to ban catapults including the ones we use in our angling .. Thankfully it has been rejected ..

I knew I had a pic somewhere of my minimal carp / survival stove and water set up ,show your mate ,bud and see what he thinks ...or suggest to him look on the bushcraft forums, now these guys are all about minimal ,stick stoves ,cooking on slate the lot ...
-
For me it's everything, not only weight but speed of set up ,drying off kit at home ,carrying it in my now much smaller car ,I have to know where it all is ,so I can just add bait ,bit of food ...and bye bye wife til tomorrow... Here's a pic of myself fishing a mega water ,just tarping it under a 58 pattern poncho tarp ,which make great barrow covers n all ,walked over a mile ,over big stone walls etc
-
And .....lol,I did once go down the rabbit hole of bedchairs ,like ditching them and using a Helinox or Onetigress 'cot'...and when younger even kipping on the floor to save a second trip ...( not anymore) I'm off over the road in a mo to check my neighbours fishery for him, later if I can find this pic of when I got into tarpology ,was minimal ........and daaaaaamp..ha,ha..!
-
Yeah it's funny ,because I've pretty much got all my kit 'down ' as they say ,but bivvys oh ,no ...no...far too much overthinking goes on in the darkness. .. Mind you I do like the look of the lo pros . I'm currently switching tween various MHr and a Tacklebox long top ...lake depending 😂
-
Wow,they look lovely ,especially with the new centre bosses . Lezak is a member of my club ,I've yet to meet him ,his stories of Slapton Ley inspired me to spend the day on the beach and all the history that goes with it ...the Americans and requisition of the cottages ,.

I think your right Yonny ,I gotta reign that bivvy fetishism in 😊
