  1. I’m intrigued with this version of this rig because I can see potential for a much safer 360, defo a good idea with adjustments.
  2. Yonnys right, but it’s a simple fix the D on the hook needs to be tighter to the hook eye... I’ve used this rig for the simple fact I find them easier to tie than a chod.
  3. I know mate, I’ve been brought up carp Fishing with my dad since I was about 8 years old so honestly fishing the rivers has never really interested me. Just surprised me the amount of older geezers I seen fishing on there after realising it’s close season. I’d imagine there casual anglers who have decided to dust the rods off because of the quarantine and didn’t realise either.
  4. My bad 😪, some reason I thought It was June 1st, I’ll make sure not to fish it until the 17th. Apologies guys 🙏👍
  5. Hi lads, I was wondering if any of the more experienced carp anglers had any tips for pre baiting on a stetch of river, I caught my first ever river carp a 10lb common on Thursday morning (Posted in June catch reports), I’m planning on starting to pre bait this stetch starting tomorrow but I’m unsure of how much bait would be an adequate amount. On one hand I’m thinking of putting a good 10 kilos in as I’m thinking of other species that may clean the majority of this up before the carp get a look on (bream, barbel, chub etc. But on the other hand I’m thinking there may be a lot less fish visiting the spots than what I think and I may feed the carp off before even getting a chance to fish for them. I was just wondering if anyone had experience fishing a river and what approach would most likely work better...
  6. Wow! what a beautiful fish, and thank you for taking the time to do these great write ups for us all to read Yonny.
  7. I’m convinced the "carpy camo tape" is going to be the missing piece of the jigsaw on my quest for my first uk 40... what you reckon? 🤙🤭
  8. I’d say fish size isn’t the only thing that comes into play when choosing hook size, the water I fish is very weedy and a size 4 gives me that extra confidence when playing fish through that thick weed... especially because there’s a barbed hook ban also.
  9. I’ve messed about a lot with the multi rig and different hook patterns, I switched to a size 4 curv shank and never looked back. I usually use a soft coated braid with a anti tangle sleeve and a sinker half way up the hooklength and a 3.5 oz lead. I use a stiff braid when the lake bed allows me to.
  10. It would be hard going trying to find or more perfect looking carp than that...👌
  11. The only thing that made me a bit paranoid about the Nash stuff is because it’s so light compared to the brown of other hooklinks I’ve used
  12. Your thoughts are similar to mine, I think all this spare times making me overthink things and I’m giving the carp to much credit..
  13. Hi guys, how important do you think the colour of your braid is? I’ve got a good deal (£5.00) for some Nash skin link but it’s in gravel brown. I do a lot of fishing in silt and low lying weed. Do you lads think it would make much difference using a gravel brown coloured braid on these bottoms?
  14. The little lads pride and joy, specialized hot rock.😄 Had him riding it not long after he learnt to walk 😂
  15. Phwoar there beasts yonny mate👌,
  16. How I get my couple hours exercise in, also gives me a break from the crazy kids 😀
  17. I agree, it’s everywhere you look. We don’t need it here to.
  18. This is the reason why he didn’t turn up according to wilder 😂, worst excuse for a defeat ever.
  19. Use something like a Korda chod stiff rig tool to hold in each loop when steaming straight, this will also make those loops nice and round to give plenty of movement. I take it your using this on a helicopter set up?
  20. Would this stuff do? https://groceries.morrisons.com/webshop/product/Dr-Oetker-Free-Range-Egg-White-Powder-Sachets/294089011
