    Wensum Chub

I waited until dark to avoid the children, paddle boarders and kayakers on the River Wensum. 4½lb chub on half a cocktail sausage, size 10 Solar Tackle 101 hook.

There is enough free stuff online to learn from and quickly no doubt, however some things are said over and over but are not digested. How many anglers have said on film you need to watch the water, move onto fish yet how many actually do this? - barely any! I'll be stood out in the water for hours at dusk just watching and it actually makes people un-comfortable opposite - it's like what's he doing staring at the water, I'll shuffle about and hide in the bivvy again! Up at 8-9am, get up spod for no reason, no laps, no move, no watching - yet they've seen the same videos as everyone else. I guess it always comes back to are you camping or fishing? I've got a mate who will not move regardless, and doesn't watch the water, got the technical set-ups right but a bit lazy with that too, hook points etc Really he's camping to get away from it all which I understand totally but in his head he's doing everything that his hero Adam Penning does! Weird rant sorry everyone lol

Decent video.. I enjoyed it.... but I cannot help but think it's not quite as good as all the Tel videos that Jack Reid of ESP produced. It looks like Steve Metcalfe produced this one, the marketing guy at Sticky/TA, which makes sense. With fish of that quality on film it's hard to go wrong and it was a decent watch. Fantastic for a first attempt at a Tel vid. They're Ruben Heaton Flyweights..... some of the best =/<40lb scales you can get. I used to carry a set for smaller kippers and still have them somewhere. It make sense to carry them with the big scales in the car. No-one catches a 40 on every trip... not even Tel. Agree. Proper gnarly.

    Today's thought.

I am absolutely shattered today, and my right knee and hip are agony. Yesterday was a busy day, from Ipswich to collect Bruce Lait and take him to the airport at 2.30am. Back home grab a couple of hours sleep and then go collect my son Levi from Basildon and back to Ipswich via Poplar Nursery at Marks Tey for coffee and a doughnut. Definitely a cafe/restaurant worth a visit.
