  1. Hello, Posting to you about Common Carp fishing all the way from Ontario, Canada. I fished for multi-species for many years, but I am new to Carp fishing. Thanks, CZ

    God Save the King!!

In the Great Lakes and tributary rivers 20lbs common carp is the average size and they school in large numbers. There are many 40lbs carp. As you mentioned, carp fishing in Canada is not popular like in the UK and EU. A large sports chain store called SAIL is clearing out all of the Blax Carp Spirit inventory due to lack turnover. Canadians think of carp as garbage fish and turn their noses up at them. Canadians prefer to fish for walleye, bass and muskellunge in Ontario. Anyway, I am looking forward to catching some nice one's shortly Enjoy your day, Gents! CZ

  4. My first “bivvy” was the old Shakespeare cypry dome. bought it on cheque spread from Penge angling. wouldn't like to think how much that was in todays money.

  5. Ahh,yes the good ol Apotheosis, apparently meaning closer to God, or similar ..I never had one Nick ..,but many people I knew did ,I thought the fibre glass version was better than the aero grade alloy poles ,I well remember another chap virtually sweating trying to get those alloy poles to 'clip in ' .. Didn't get no Wrasse, big bull in field ,with attitude, so another time .. I did a list once of the ones I've had ,and thought what a waste of money chasing a rainbow 🌈.. I also use a 50 brolly and wrap .. Big pond ,just past those bovine..!

  7. Oh Mate, please don't. From the original umbrella tent, Fox Jekk shelter overwrap to a couple of Fox EasyDomes, Rod Hutchinson Apotheosis, JRC Roamer Dome, Nash Hurricane Outlaw Dome and overwrap, TFG Hardcore, TFG Oval and overwrap, then the current Rod Hutchinson Hybrid Cabrio Brolly system and Extension. Actually, it's not that many over 40years! I know I killed a few due to weather, the JRC poles delaminated, and I did manage to drop one of the Hybrids on a lit stove. I thought I used and abused my gear, but looking and thinking through that list it is likely that most died of regular use, or I changed due to circumstances. In fact the Apotheosis I gave to my kids to use in the garden. Strangely enough of all of them I returned to the brolly and overwrap, and I would happily go back to the Jekk overwrap over a 50inch brolly. As much as I love a comfortable bivvy, the size and weight of the pramhood or external spoke system puts me off, so I very much prefer the umbrella system.
