So we have had a last trip of the year post and i thought we could have a first trip of the year one. My first trip is next saturday, over on a club water, about 5 mins from my partners house. About 9 acres in size and is usually pretty good for a run in the winter, as im told anyway. Can't wait, haven't been out carping since end of september. hoping to get a run but if im honest, just being out there will be nice.

I went today to one of my local waters it was a blank for me, I got a few liners so they were about just not interested in my bait. 🤔 I was talking to the bailiff seems like there's been some good perch coming out so I think I'll have a go for them next trip out. 😀

Made a start on my Christmas present and haven’t put it down. A really enjoyable and easy read. It’s a monster of a book at 536 pages and I’m by no means at the end but really enjoying it after the first 120 pages. There’s no self indulgent big headed nonsense, no “look how great I am” story’s. It flows nicely. The white print on black background is different but works for me. i maybe bias because I rate Mr Penning highly as an angler and as a writer but I’d really recommend this one.

Managed to wangle a few hours at my estate ticket water today. I had to take the apprentices, whom I will lay blame to for blanking. Kids don't do quiet, when there's 3 of them🤫 Nice to do a little bit of lake watching though!

Always nice to get that first trip in. Are you doing the day or a longer session? Im planning to be out next Wednesday. Cancelled this weeks trip and itching to get out. Weathers feeling good for it.

I was snag fishing locked up in Italy with these butt rests - no issue whatsoever, although I expected the rods to be pulled in they never moved.

My mate has a couple. They are decent lads - open every time. A little heavy but that can help with light baits (pellets, maggots etc). You'll struggle at 120 mate. They don't cast very well at all. I loved the look of these when they came out but they're not all that.
