    Rig mechanics

Well I've just tied my first German rig... everything went ok. Funny thing was that when I held it over my steaming kettle to shrink the tubing, I'm sure I heard a little voice squealing "nein, nein, nein". It then went very quiet.

    Rig mechanics

I never alter the length of my hairs. I'll change the length of a rig to suit the substrate but never the length of the hair, I just stick to what I know works with my chosen rig. In fairness I hardly ever use hairs nowadays, I usually present on D or micro swivel of some kind.

I've just got to hope that the carp I meet up with are troughing it like a load of hungry Germans.....

    Running Leads

I do, i'm just getting back into my fishing and there just seems to be a fascination with using safety clips etc which i see as a bit of a fashion thing and if set up incorrectly can do more harm than good. Its simple and i have the utmost confidence in it (like you say confidence is key). I've done a couple of sessions since starting up again and was having a chat with the baliff at the local water, we were discussing rigs and i mentioned i was on a running lead setup and he replied with "wow, first time i've seen someone use one of those on here for about 5 years!"

    Running Leads

In line running lead on a semi slack line 95% of my fishing needs.

  8. Been doing the same, in-fact more and more the last few years, neat easy and something different.

  9. I must admit I do like a stiffer hooklink material, so switch to Amnesia in clear. It ties a lovely D-rig

  10. When the going gets really, really tough I turn to bog standard off-the-reel mono. Super supple, super subtle, no one else doing it. What more could you ask for?
