You can, mate. As long as it's not a commercial activity (i.e. fisheries) its perfectly legal to rehome carp and koi etc. Obviously can be risky due to biosecurity but perfectly ok legally. Edit: They're basically pets so same rules apply.
-
Hi Jonk. Are you talking about a small garden pond for decoration? What type of carp are these? Are they Koi (ornamental) or mirror/common carp? If you have ornamental fish, there are probably different rules (speak to a Koi retailer), but if you have normal common/mirror carp, then the rules are covered by EA/CEFAS. Another place to look at at is to google 'moving ornamental fish from a garden pond'. There is some guidance from specialists there who will probably gladly speak to you about the requirements. Good luck.

Mate, sorry, but you can't just give fish away like that. You should speak to the environment agency about your situation and act accordingly. Good luck

I have just moved and have a pond full of Carp and Rudd. 2-3 very big. Probably 20 in total of various sizes. In the Tollesbury area. Essex. Must have transport and means to remove them.

A real good 10mm cork ball will be ok but it's tricky to get really good cork balls nowadays. It's a lot safer bet using 12 mm cork balls for a 14 mm pop up.👍

If you love the countryside, enjoy it now ,now the reason I say this is because the area I live in has thousands of homes being planned or built ,I think it's 50,000 in the next few years .. The Infrastructure is not in place ,including hospitals ,and virtually zero dentists are available .. From my cottage ,I counted 60 plus huge windturbines, and factor in the farmland disappearing under solar panals ...the green party supports this and net zero ,including 15 minute city's, anyone supporting the greens ,do your research they ....are...extremely dangerous.... You can check on the SAS website where the sewage discharges are coming from and where it happens ,for example the local sewage works cannot cope with all these new homes, with people searching for a alternative lifestyle, which ruins it for established locals ..anyway ,in this case the River Allan which flows into the catchment area of the River Camel ,its so polluted its unreal ,if you was on holiday you'd not know ,being local I'd not be letting my dog swim in any local stream ,nor would I swim in the sea ,especially at Polzeath or Bude beaches...the media won't tell you that... A lake I love, we've had to stop the stream feeding it,as it was ruining the water quality...now the phosphate ban has been lifted ,it'll be a free-for-all... This country is completely mismanaged and over populated,we all know why that is ...

Hello, Does anyone know if a finished 14mm cork ball pop rolled with a 10mm cork ball will hold up a hinge or chod rig? All the places I know that sell them only do them in 16mm. I was thinking about making my own and don't want to waste money on hardware if 14mm finished hook baits are not up for the job. Thanks

If it helps I got a good deal by going on ebay, total fishing tackle, got a ÂŁ25 off voucher ÂŁ169 rather than ÂŁ194.99

Kryston as they say is so 90’s lol Fortunately as it’s not in your face everywhere on line it stays on the few shelves that stock it so it becomes relatively easy to find. not sure if it’s still the same stuff as years ago though.
-
I nearly bought one on Sunday then the wife said you already got 2 of them poles lol
-
Today I lashed out and bought a Nash Bushwhacker.

This is hopefully the Feargal Sharkey explanation of how it doesn't cost a penny:
-
Good point.... it's 30 years+, not 20. A quick Google finds it's mentioned on pretty much every angling forum out there (not just carp) from 20 years ago through to present day. It's available from all the major tackle shops. A season mixing with lads on any proper distance water will tell you it's quite widely used. As @salokcinnodrog said:

I have shown you the only party that wants to fix this issue. It's up to you whether you want to keep having sewage dumped in rivers now. I'm not getting into another debate about politics. We also can't afford not too.

We can’t afford to buy it back.. unless it’s a compulsory take back but that aint gonna happen either as too many rich people have their fingers in the trough.

That may be true, but that does NOT excuse their other idiocies. David Paulden, sorry, Zack Polanski as he changed his name to, is dangerous. Remove the UK from NATO? NATO and the UN are at least holding the American Idiot back a little bit. Subsidise net zero energy even more? When as yet both solar and wind power are not technically viable. Convert farmland for food into solar farms? Fine, OK, then add in the pylons across the country to the towns. Wind farms in the North Sea? Brilliant, you still have to cable the electricity to the land, and more pylons across the country. Populism does not make for common sense.

They are the only ones who offer the solution you wanted ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

It does need renationalising. We should own our own utilities.
-
It doesn’t need re nationalising it just needs someone to treat it for what it is and not a commodity. The greens will try to ban it anyway as one of their members will just scream “blood sport” they already say they are against blood sports.
-
And the Green Party are otherwise extremely dangerous. Their 'progressive' policies are followed by people who have little or no common sense. Take into that what you will! There is no political party that actually has the common sense to run this nation; political parties are run to suit one group of people, and it is not the actual population.
-
There is only one political party that want to renationalise our water. To me it's simple people either want waste dumped in their rivers and to have our assets owned by billionaires or they don't. I think if we all stopped paying our rod licence the present government and most other parties would just ban fishing as a consequence sadly.

Just over 73metres? It might help if you are only reaching 60... -
Yeah, if we all refused to renew our licenses on that basis, they'd have to act. Same for the road tax & the pot holes. & no doubt many other everyday essentials that we are constantly being ripped off for! There's no real party, or means, to get people power behind any such action, which in this day and age, is a real shame.

Do you think I'll be able to hit 20 wraps with it? I mean 12ft ones btw. -
Well I stopped using it in mid 90's... funny no mention of it for sooo many years? Guessing new rods and reels have made it somewhat redundent now? AS @salokcinnodrog said: I'm the same, never sure if it made a difference on my casting. It seemed smoother, not as 'noisy', but I can or could cast a distance anyway.
