  1. Past hour
  2. I would leave them in the garage will be fine in these temps, not worth the risk. 😂
  3. Ive got to try and get the maggots in the fridge without being detected.🤞 Ill say its some magic hookbaits (not specialised! )
  4. Today
  5. I may have got rumbled for my extra sections of bushwhacker, luckily the first one got through customs without being scanned.
  6. Of course not. But tbf she knows that whatever I tell her it costs, she has to double it then add some 🤣
  7. I bet you dont tell her how much all those little packets are?🫣
  8. Made me chuckle. That's what the mrs calls it when I show up with a bunch of those little packets 😅
  9. Yesterday
  10. 4 pints of wrigglers, 20k of 10 & 15mm boilies, some matching glug and stick mix. About £50's worth of plastic and bits of metal. New catapult elastic. New alarm batteries BIG SOCIAL next week, so I'm probably talking the kitchen sink as well!
  11. I've made some hard hookers today and some sinking wafters, or light bottom baits as I prefer to call them. I then made a glycerin based bait spray, that is too viscous to spray 😂 But I've given my hookbaits a coating, and they now smell amazing. And will hopefully harden more and become crayfish resistant.
  12. And then I got another £25 off voucher so bought 5 extensions for £55, I'm now up to 6 wraps capability. Can't wait for next week now.
  13. Last week
  14. They are common carp, 2 mirrors. They are remnants of a well managed clean, UV filtered, disease free Koi pond. The Koi have already been removed.
  15. Well something learned today! Fair play @yonny I'd still be very careful for the above reasons.
  16. Probably better putting them on Facebook and one of the koi keepers pages of which there are probably a few
  17. Yeah that's a massive no-no! Very dangerous, could easily wipe out the fishery.
  18. My father ,was a BCSG member ,it was very common to move home bred Koi around various members ponds if they liked the colours or patterns ... But last yr ,and I found out who it was ,a new villiager emptied his pond ,that's blue orf,and lots of brown gold fish into the local pools ,day ticket they didn't live long and any parasites ,diseases could have ruined the existing carp, rudd, roach and so on ... If your fish are going into a private ,backyard pond ,don't worry about it....
  19. You can, mate. As long as it's not a commercial activity (i.e. fisheries) its perfectly legal to rehome carp and koi etc. Obviously can be risky due to biosecurity but perfectly ok legally. Edit: They're basically pets so same rules apply.
  20. Hi Jonk. Are you talking about a small garden pond for decoration? What type of carp are these? Are they Koi (ornamental) or mirror/common carp? If you have ornamental fish, there are probably different rules (speak to a Koi retailer), but if you have normal common/mirror carp, then the rules are covered by EA/CEFAS. Another place to look at at is to google 'moving ornamental fish from a garden pond'. There is some guidance from specialists there who will probably gladly speak to you about the requirements. Good luck.
  21. Mate, sorry, but you can't just give fish away like that. You should speak to the environment agency about your situation and act accordingly. Good luck
  22. I have just moved and have a pond full of Carp and Rudd. 2-3 very big. Probably 20 in total of various sizes. In the Tollesbury area. Essex. Must have transport and means to remove them.
  23. A real good 10mm cork ball will be ok but it's tricky to get really good cork balls nowadays. It's a lot safer bet using 12 mm cork balls for a 14 mm pop up.👍
  24. If you love the countryside, enjoy it now ,now the reason I say this is because the area I live in has thousands of homes being planned or built ,I think it's 50,000 in the next few years .. The Infrastructure is not in place ,including hospitals ,and virtually zero dentists are available .. From my cottage ,I counted 60 plus huge windturbines, and factor in the farmland disappearing under solar panals ...the green party supports this and net zero ,including 15 minute city's, anyone supporting the greens ,do your research they ....are...extremely dangerous.... You can check on the SAS website where the sewage discharges are coming from and where it happens ,for example the local sewage works cannot cope with all these new homes, with people searching for a alternative lifestyle, which ruins it for established locals ..anyway ,in this case the River Allan which flows into the catchment area of the River Camel ,its so polluted its unreal ,if you was on holiday you'd not know ,being local I'd not be letting my dog swim in any local stream ,nor would I swim in the sea ,especially at Polzeath or Bude beaches...the media won't tell you that... A lake I love, we've had to stop the stream feeding it,as it was ruining the water quality...now the phosphate ban has been lifted ,it'll be a free-for-all... This country is completely mismanaged and over populated,we all know why that is ...
  25. Hello, Does anyone know if a finished 14mm cork ball pop rolled with a 10mm cork ball will hold up a hinge or chod rig? All the places I know that sell them only do them in 16mm. I was thinking about making my own and don't want to waste money on hardware if 14mm finished hook baits are not up for the job. Thanks
  26. If it helps I got a good deal by going on ebay, total fishing tackle, got a £25 off voucher £169 rather than £194.99
  27. Kryston as they say is so 90’s lol Fortunately as it’s not in your face everywhere on line it stays on the few shelves that stock it so it becomes relatively easy to find. not sure if it’s still the same stuff as years ago though.
  28. I nearly bought one on Sunday then the wife said you already got 2 of them poles lol
