beerbattered
Is there a rig that allows one to fish a 3 oz., bolt rig (break away) style lead with a 3-4 ft. leader and floating bait to be fished on the surface?
kevtaylor
Standard ZIG Rig - ledgered floating bait, fished on either the surface or sub-surface. Variable ZIG Rig - utilises a float, with the difference being that you can alter the hooklink length to searrch out the water layers. Get a book all possible set-ups are covered! Gaz
mcf do a controller that is the shape of a small pear i think thay do three sizes and the large one can hit 90-100 mtrs depending on you and your gear. i have the small one and have caught plenty of fish with it but you must feather it down or it hits the water with a BIG splosh
kordacarp
simple! take a lead and a very long flurocarbon hooklink (korda IQ) tie a normal knotless knot on the flurocarbon(F.C) thread the lead onto your main line followed by a shokka bead then a swivel (this will connect the fluro carbon to your hook link. mount a very bouyant bait on to the hair eg zig foam /2x pop ups after you have cast in , let line of the reel 1 ft at a time untill it reaches the surface, this rig is also good for days when the fish are not feeding as you can use this rig at any depth, then you dont need to worry about the fish finding you as youll find them!! job done! tonybranno
simple! take a lead and a very long flurocarbon hooklink (korda IQ) Flourocarbon is too heavy for zig rigs

His name is Kordacarp... He must be Danny... Yeah plugging products instead of talking sense. Personally don't fancy using fluoro one of whose main characteristics is it's sinking properties when fishing a zig rig as opposed to Drennan Sub Surface Fly Leader which is designed to float.Work it out...... carphunter99
if fishing a weedy water then the whole rig can be improved by putting a link on your lead like you would a marker float to a swivel or a run rig and then thread that onto your main line with a shock bed to your hooklink this allows the rig to rise and not get clogged up with weed. kordacarp
try it, if the rig IS tied correctly with a buoyant bait then it will work!
