FBR Posted January 23, 2021 Report Share Posted January 23, 2021 Ordered a set of 2.75lb rods & matching spod (all 12ft) working out what reels to use, stuck between Gold Emblem 45’s or Emblem 35’s? much prefer the Golds due to folding handles but not had a chance to see them in person with shops been shut. would they be alright on the rods or better off with the smaller 35’s? ouchthathurt Posted January 23, 2021 Report Share Posted January 23, 2021 I would prefer the larger of the two reels, I find them more versatile. You can use large reels in the margins yet smaller reels are less suited to long range work. I’ve got fox 12000 reels that I can use from 0-130yrds without any issues.
