Reel for 2.75lb Rods?

Ordered a set of 2.75lb rods & matching spod (all 12ft)

 

working out what reels to use, stuck between Gold Emblem 45’s or Emblem 35’s?

 

much prefer the Golds due to folding handles but not had a chance to see them in person with shops been shut.

 

would they be alright on the rods or better off with the smaller 35’s?

To be fair I think if I had to choose I would go gold but that Is mainly down to looks 😁 

I thought the 35/45 thing was the angle of the cone on the spool? 

Are you thinking of using one of these as a spod reel BTW?  I would get a dedicated spod reel for spodding,

No, going to buy a the emblem spod reel.

 

wanted to check the 45’s would match the. 2.75lb, it it makes no diff I’ll be going for those

The 35 are you on smaller on spool and I think the body is a touch smaller.

I would prefer the larger of the two reels, I find them more versatile. You can use large reels in the margins yet smaller reels are less suited to long range work. I’ve got fox 12000 reels that I can use from 0-130yrds without any issues.
