Hi can anyone recommend a bite alarms set for a beginner

Only need 2 but would go to 3

I think you may struggle to get anything any good for that value 

especially 3 of them

the jrc radar get good reviews as do some of the sonics 

you could also look at the Nash s5r

I have seen them in the flesh when I used to work in a tackle shop, they do look pretty good, never had any returns, and according to Dave Lane in the TFG catalogue article, pretty bulletproof

Used to have some of these, the only fault I had was the solder inside on the red alarm came loose, easy fix.

The little speaker mufflers do work, but some people reccomend glueing them in as these are LOUD alarms.

Also had something similar... TMC Bite Alarms and luminous Swingers.

Sonik sks are pretty good, the ND S9 alarms get a lot of positive reviews, quite techy though, personally I prefer alarms that have things like volume, tone, sensitivity control,

Nash Sirens seem to get good reports too (can't remember if its the 3's or 5's though... the expensive ones) a buddy won a set and he's over the moon with them... used them for half the season, autumn, winter and start of spring and he's in love with them
