Dave Hedgehog
If it’s only silk weed I don’t think I’d be overly worried. But I’d be tempted to fish solid bags personally. There will be clear spots tho. Seek and ye shall find. kevtaylor

AndyCh
If allowed use barbless hooks over silkweed.

Because silkweed often catches on the barb itself😉 To be honest I tend to use a low pop-up over silkweed, just high enough to keep the hook away from the strands and detritus. You want a pop-up that will lift the hook upright, and you don't want to use too much weight as a counterbalance or it will get dragged down again into it. I hate to say it, but this is exactly the right place for a 'chod' or silt rig, or a standard pendant set up with a coated or uncoated braid hooklink. In winter carp can stay holed up in a particular area. It may be near dead weed, snags, natural food, drop-off features like gravel bars or plateau, and is NOT always the deepest water. Ginger9991
I have this problem at my lake, looks like the weed as died and drifted over my normally clear spot, Solid bags are my go to method but the rigs are coming in covered in silkweed, I have moved over to helicopter rigs and im back on the fish again. commonly
bluelabel
I think I'd be inclined to fish a pop up on a 5-8" hooklength straight off the lead... or a naked chod on a longer than usual hooklink commonly
commonly
I'd happily chuck out a naked chod, I'd only use a leader if there's a few snags.
The_Viking_Angler
Solid bags, zigs, chods, i've even used a hinge stiff rig to good success in silk weed. plenty of options for ya mate.
