smufter
Never bothered with soaking and never had a problem. Missus holds a wooden spoon with the bulk spool on it, a cloth to stop her hands getting burnt, and just make sure the line is coming off the bottom of the spool. Works for me
... Want to do it propper as i dont intend on chamging reels for a while now and are happy with 90% of what i have now 😁😁

Not heard of that one buddy. You can add a little washing-up liquid if you choose, it lubricates the line making for better casting properties. I've not tried it myself (don't want my line smelling of soap lol). P.s. fluoro doesn't require soaking, just mono. ...

Mono takes on a bit of water, so can expand if left to soak. If you put it on the reel after soaking as it dries it can tighten and shrink away from the spool lip, leaving the spool underfilled. ... and crusian 1

Thanks I soak it over night normally but I think even a couple of hours would be fine. ...
