Hi guys, hope you are all well.

I'm looking for a french lake to book exclusively for 3 people next year, there are loads on Google and they all say that they are the best but would like to hear people's personal experiences.

Looking for drive and survive and somewhere close to a main town for supplys

I've never been Mufty , you know that , but is the exclusivity that important to you ?

Reason is its my ambition to fish at Moorlands and as soon as my inheritence comes through i will be trying to sort out a visit in the not too distant future .

Im not saying its the best , but it is run by a proper honest expert Carp fisherman that used to post on here (as you know).....

Worth a looky ?

3 lads that i know have just got back from a week at bluewater lakes in france. now 3 anglers sounds good but in reallity they probably needed an angler or 2 more on there as the fish just went to the quiet areas of the lake, whereas if there are 5/6 of you on a small venue it keeps the fish moving about and gives you all a chance. bluewater is about a 3 hour drive and the nearest town is a 5-10min drive with 2 big stores. the town is called brienne le chateau. well worth a look, top venue with very nice couple who own it. peaceful and some right whackers too.i'll be going in september for the 3rd year on the bounce and my mates 4th year in a row, its that good.

What size carp/moggies? are you hoping to catch, Mufty?

Runs water or something challenging?

Something in between mate, would want the chance of a pb so 55lb + would be good.

Not to bothered about the cats, although I like em I'm not really geared up for the 100 pounders.

Looks a blinding place mate just a bit bigger than we were looking for , if we had a couple more people going then it would be ideal I think.

Abbey Lakes?

Looks a cracking venue, and a nice head of Carp, too.

Somebody I know has fished it several times, and speaks very highly of the place, but with you wanting the Lake to yourself....not much chance of that unless you happen to be from Saudi.

One I have in mind is moulicent, 4 acres , 4 swims , around 80 odd carp with half a dozen over 50.

not trying to put a downer on what has just been said above but id only ever consider fishing a lake that i have spoken to people who have fished the venue in question. nearly all lakes will claim to be this that and the other etc but not all live up to your expectations. so be careful.

I really can commend Rushes Lake, Vire en Champagne, Sarthe. It's near to Le Mans.

I've been twice and fully intend to return. Want tranquil? The silence can be heard. Want huge buzzards soaring overhead? Look up. It's almost a runs water with carp well into the 40s and a head of cats that will have your arms aching. There's a small town nearby with all the facilities you'd need or you could opt for the food package that will increase your waistline. Oh, and roaming the bank is productive and encouraged.

If I get the six numbers I'll be found living there.

Didn't Rushes cut the stock levels back by removing a lot of fish , moving on from a runs water to a bigger fish water.

Yes, they've had the lake netted twice and removed a lot of the smaller fish. The remainder have now grown on to very good sizes and the competition amongst them for food has rendered the lake "almost" a runs water again.

Take a look at the catch reports on their website.
