Monument carp fishery

Thread moved to Where to Fish in UK.

I would also suggest that you put up a Search for "Monument" as there has been quite a bit on it in the Past

Possibly one of the best people to ask for more on it is Jemsue5, if he's willing or able to tell you

Mat Hayes did 2 programs from there, they should be repeated on Sky TV.

From memory M1 boilies are fed on mass by the owner, so I'd give them a go with plenty freebies.

I also think they did OK on maggots, using a feeder rig.

Pretty much each swim has underwater features, so get that marker rod out.

Hope this is of some help?

I havent fished it for a while but I do tend to keep in touch with whats happening there. Maggots are a must as most of the fish still get caught on them. I found big bunches of maggots didnt work as well as just a few on the hook or 5 or 6 super glued to a nylon d rig. Try using a large drennan blockend feeder instead of PVA bags its far cheaper and just as good. Other than that I had a few on flouros fished with 2 bait stringers cast out to the middle of the lake. Other than pegs 2 and 3 the features never produced for me it was always out in the middle where I caught.

its so seasonal there, Maggots in the winter, false snails in the spring. Corn is always worth a try. Plus because they are so well fed and its quite pressured the slightest thing knocks them off the feed. On the side banks the features may as well not be there casting into the middle of the lake seems to get the results., either way its worth looking at the water and the conditions and be prepared to adapt, if a guy on the far bank catches on a zig the odds are the fish are in the upper layers
